...or is Armslist pretty much dead right now? I've got a few listings up and I'm not even getting bites. No one's even bothering to offer to trade me their Taurus for my Colt Python.:uhoh:

It's pretty dead, around my neck of the woods. Maybe with the holidays coming up ,people are trying to save some cash?

Might be as Bones said that it's just a slow time of year for gun auctions. Typically this also a slow time in the car sales business.

January is the worst month for a lot of businesses. I have a friend that has been a corporate chef for many years and he says Jan. is the pits in that business also. I'm in the market for a new Sig but I'm waiting until after Christmas to for the best deal.

I'll trade you my Taurus for your Colt Python. ;)

Kidding aside, I've noticed less, uh, "enthusiasm" there, too. I don't have anything on, but like to just browse..

I noticed it too. I normally get responses within a day or two. I'm getting rid of some safe queens and have three listed. I received two offers for trades, and nothing else. Being this close to Christmas makes sense, as people are spending money on gifts.

Ive been seeing some decent deals there on the buyers side of the table, but I can imagine its a little slow for the sellers

Demand is also low for the year, as indicated by Ruger and S&W stock performance.
Per this linked blog from Cheaper Than Dirt.

Think the "gas wars" of the '70s. The background check numbers won't include the one I just did here in Ohio. My CCW licsense is the background check. I still fill out the 4473 form. But it is filed and not called in.

Sales look to be down from '16. But maybe not from '15. Now is a buyers market. Not a good time to expect a good return of your investment when you see Bud's and the like offering deep discounts.

I haven't checked out Armslist in about a month, so I must be one of those contributing to it's "deadness".

grampajack, not sure how it is in your area. But the 2 regions I check out here in Ohio on a regular bases, has either people wanting new price, or a local retailer has uploaded most, if not all their wares at one time.
I usually only go 2 pages deep per category.

There have been a few listings that had my interest in the last couple of months, but by the time I made up my mind, the listings were pulled.
Keep putting your line in the water, you're bound to get a nibble. :)
