I just went out to the Natchez website and opened up my wish list to place an order and 90% of the 20 items in my wish list are out of stock. Proceeded to shop the website for other items and came across a ton of additional out of stock items.

Am wondering if they're having financial trouble and can't order stock or if they are going out of business and letting their current stock be gradually sold out???

It's either that or they are just selling the hell out of everything and don't have enough warehouse space to keep ample quantities in stock. I did go out to the Midway website and found that only a few of the items I was shopping for on Natchez was out of stock with them. Maybe with Midway's ridiculous price increases at the first of the year a lot of their customers have been driven to Natchez to shop for lower prices thus deleting their inventory.

Whatever the reason, it's frustrating not being able to go out a place an order and have everything be in stock. I'd expect this in Russia but not here in the good ol' USA.

Funny, the other day there was a thread complaining about how Midway never had anything in stock.

It's an election year in an unpredictable economy. I suspect the next year will have plenty of ups and downs when it comes to availability of firearm-related items.

Election year, 2012, TEOTWAWKI, etc etc and on and on.....

AND everybody's pointing that out with "remember 2008?" Yes I realize I'm doing the same thing but I think the cat's out of the bag now. If you want something or ammo for the next year or so, you better get it located somewhere and join in on the panic buying or else come up empty-handed later. All the mfg's are saying they are getting behind on orders. You can bet when it comes back late next year sometime, the prices will be higher as well.

There are a lot of other dealers out there on the net-most likely somebody will have what you seek....for now.

Everybody is out of stock on everything.

I just did a search on FNH 5.7 ammo a while ago in relation to another thread.

It's OOS everywhere that usually has it.

With 5-year CDs paying 1.5% people are buying stuff instead of saving. A 1-year CD is something really stupid like 0.4%. And that's before you pay income taxes on it. Why bother.

With the federal government giving money away and devaluing the dollars already in existence, there is little incentive to save. Buy, buy.

I just ordered 1000 ($299) of Federal 5.56 55gr. from Natchez and they were one of the few that had it in stock and ready to ship. In fact, I ordered it Wednesday and it was delivered Friday.

Yesterday I read that Ruger stock had out preformed gold as an investment last year. Americans are stocking up on guns and ammo.

mtrmn is right! Uncertainty equals fear; fear equals brisk gun/ammo sales... We're going to deal with this until November; maybe more. Depending on who wins the presidential election, this may get worse over the next four years.

In Natchez' case - having been overpriced by 20% compared to EVERYONE else on the interweb, AND, my local, overpriced gunshops, I would NOT consider them going out of business to be, 'surprising!'

As said - election year. Stuff is going to get scarce for a while.

I've already got about 13,000 primers and 2500-3000 bullets. That and whatever I can get ahold of should get me through whatever shortages we have until I can resort to more normal buying on the other end.

With the US military winding down overseas I kind of wonder if this isn't a contrived shortage. You have to admit there was good profit to be made in that last shortage depending on who you were.

Yes, they are going out of business. So is Midway and Grafs and Powder Valley. Obama has created a secret task force to put all of the on-line gun supply companies out of business and then enslave all of us to work on his sunshine farms. If you complain they withold your ration of gruel. Work shall set you free, comrade.

And here's the proof, I read it on the Internet.

I've suspected this for some time. :D

Everybody is low stock right now. Gun builders are backordered . Election year is the busiest especially you have a Democrat president for reelection.

Sorry guys.........but procrastination will get you like this every time.

These waves come in cycles, learn to read them. ;)

Don't know what you guys are looking at but when I go to Natchez and Midway everthing is still in stock. Same with TNT reloading.

I order from Midway quite a lot, maybe too much. LOL

It does seem like a lot of reloading gear and supplies are hit and miss lately. I chalked it up to people seeing which way the winds may blow come November.

The really popular bullets, like the 168 Grain SMKs are out of stock a lot.

Went to Natchez today out of frustration that almost everything I "needed" was out of stock at Midway. Natchez had it all, and the price was lower. I was after reloading stuff, not ammo. LBS

Sign of the tough economic times. Why tie up money in "stock" when you can order it for your customers.
Another example. My local car dealer never seems to have parts when needed. Always, has to order them.
