I have a few boxes of this stuff and I've been thinking about hunting with it and reloading the brass.

I've read about the brass being pretty sticky in Marlin chambers, but it seems all of the posts regarding this issue are pretty old. Does anybody have this issue?

I know 30-30 isn't know for amazing accuracy, but what should I expect for groups?

Has anybody used this ammo on game? I'm a little concerned about terminal performance due to its cheap price. I believe I picked it up for $13 pre-COVID.

Now this may not be indicative of others but I had a ppu rim rip out in my 336 coming out of the tube mag. It was completely Inoperable until I got it home and took it apart which has never happened with any other ammo I have used. Not saying it won’t work for you that’s just my experience.

I’ve used PPU in 7MM and .303 with no issues, along with a lot of pistol ammo. Never had an issue.

in my 7MM mag, the 174gr held 2 MOA in an old Winchester 70. I gave some to my friends last deer season and it killed several deer.

Sorry, no 30-30 experience

I’ve used plenty of PPU in several calibers including 30-30 in an old Marlin Glenfield and never had an issue. Before I started reloading I bought plenty of it especially in 44 mag and am still using the brass.

I have ppu 30-30. It's pretty good. Accuracy depends on you sighting abilities. My wife has a 2-10 Nikon on hers. It's 1 1/4-1 1/2 MOA with 150 RN of any brand.
Leverevolution or IMR3031 bring it into the 1 MOA range. Usually 3 in one hole with 4 and 5 climbing slightly.

My buddy has a 336. I got a part of a box of ppu 30-30 from the local gunsmith a few years back. I gave it to my buddy. A couple shots were fine. Then one locked the bolt solid. Why I don’t know. It didn’t sound different and he said it didn’t feel different. But anyways, we fiddle with it 10 minutes before it finally unlocked for us. I researched it some at the time and seems it is a common problem.

As far as the bullets being okay for hunting. I’d say sure. Cup and core bullets of just about any variety at 30-30 pressure/velocity work well.

It's very good in a 30-06, velocities, accuracy, feeding, reloading the brass! Haven't used it on game, but I definitely agree with the comment on cup & cor bullets, so I wouldn't hesitate on hunting with it either!

I have used PPU in 303 and 9.3x 62 and found it to be accurate and dependable. It has killed everything I shot it at within 50 yards and the brass reloads well. I would recommend it.

My favorite part of PPU is the brass; it's stout and good for reloading. I have used their bullets for reloading and have been underwhelmed; they are definitely not in the same league as Hornady, Lapua, Sierra, Speer and others.

Ditto for the brass. Is my perfered brand for reloading militery classics. I think the copper content is somewhat higher then some others. That makes nice, easy working & easily anneled cases.

I'll second the comments that their bullets aren't fantastic. I can't speak to how they preform on game, but my 308 win does not like their 168gr "match" bullets. Some time with a scale showed pretty significant weight variation which probably had something to do with it.

I have only used them on game after sighting in, kills have been emphatic but bullets have fragmented several times. Recovered 2 copper jackets with no lead remaining in them.
