Well, I need to buy a 12 ga buttplate for this shotgun and am not finding any model 50 butt plates but a couple listed are supposed to fit 12 ga 50 or 42.
Also, is it supposed to look like this? The stock has two screw holes of course but also has two holes that are maybe as big as a nickel or quarter one over the other under where the butt plate goes.

Thank you!

Isn't the Win 42 a 410 pump?

I don't know but the model 50 I have here is a semi automatic 12 guage shotgun. That needs the butt plate but thanks for the reply!

The 42 is the 410 version of the Model 12 pump. It's not impossible that the butt plates are the same size as a 50, but it's not likely either.

Even if you find an original model 50 butt plate, chances are it isn't going to fit seamlessly. They were screwed to the stock, then ground to fit at the factory. Your best bet would be to buy a reproduction plate with the correct screw spacing, and fit it yourself.

Yes I agree and appreciate that. I happen to be on chat with Brownells right now.

Late edit: Well that didn't help. Brownells recommended a model 70 with the pointed heel. doh.

I would gladly sand and buff down an oversized buttplate. Can you suggest what might work to do that for me please rule303? It looks like the model 12 oversized may work so far. That's the closest I have found. Reg. Mod 12 are a tad too narrow.

I put an offer in that I can gamble on for a buttplate on that e bay auction site and might win or get a counter offer. Waiting for the answer. If it doesn't pan out, I will probably go with your suggestion RC. Thanks!

LATE EDIT: I won a buttplate that may work. If it doesn't fit, my gamble was only 12.50 total.
