Is there a gun similar to the Sig239 without the high pricetag?

I love the Sig 239, but it is a bit outside of my budget. I like the single stack, I like the size, I like that it is in .40 (9 would be okay), and I like both the DAK and DA/SA trigger options. I don't really want to go with a 1911 for a few reasons. Does anyone make a gun similar in size to the 239 for around $350-$400?

Have you seen the surplus Sig P6's out there.

I have a spreadsheet at home, so I'll have to doublecheck later, but as I recall the published dimensions are very close to the 239.

It is a single stack 9mm, and in the price range mentioned.

P6

Get the Sig P6. You could even pick up a surplus P 220 (.45); still in your budget.

Sorry it is a bit hard to read, it keeps stripping out my tabs

The P6 is a good bet in that price range, but I only paid $400 for my used 9mm 239.

The 239 is a great gun, one of the smoothest shooting that I have experienced. It reminds me very much of my Smith 3913, a gun that I would consider it's equal, that can be had for well less than $400. So, if you can't find a 239 in your price range I would go with a Smith 3913 and then the P6.

There are a few reasons why the P225/P6 may not be a good idea:

1) Stock magazines are hard to get / expensive, and replacement ones may not be that reliable.
2) Replacement grips are hard to get / expensive.
3) Possible issues feeding hollowpoint ammo.

Now, all of the above can be remedied, or may not be that big of an issue for you. If not an issue, the P6 is probably a very good choice.

I also second the Kahr line - maybe their K9 is what you'd want. I'm not sure on the price though....may be a few bucks higher than what you want to spend.

Hummm...based on the OP's desired attributes and willingness to consider 9mm, I'd look around for a nice, used S&W 3913 Lady Smith. I think its a great alternative to the P239.

Please keep the suggestions coming, I am keeping up on this thread and researching all of the suggestions.
Thank you.

Looking at saving up for the P239 or finding a P225 somwhere...

+2 for the used P239.

Nowadays, folks are coming to the forums to get rid of their guns instead of the Pawn Shops.

Especially with a quality gun like a Sig, having someone throw down a couple hundred rounds will do nothing but help break it in a bit.

I've bought close to ten weapons now USED off the classified sections of these forums and I've yet to have an issue with any of them.

Buy what you really want. Be patient - there is a "slightly" used P239 out there somewhere with your name on it.

I paid $427 delivered NIB for my Sig 239. I've had it for a few years though. ;)

buy the p239. pay today and you have it 4ever. if you don't reload, add a 9mm conv bbl ( about $150 [EFKfiredragon]). the da/sa with the de-cocker is the model you want. follow-up shots are almost as fast as a 1911 and the da 1st shot is as close to lawyer proof as you can be. 40 in this package is IMHO the best balance between concealability/power and control you will find.
wood grips are more costly than plastic and hogues work very well --if they fit your hand. good luuck

The DAO versions of the S&W 3913 family (395x) have a trigger similar in feel to the DAK. These will be used guns, but will come in well under budget. I have a 3913LS that I like very much.
