ATP Gunshop and Range in Summerville, SC. http://www.atpguns.com/

I've bashed them in the past. A lot. Possibly even on this board. Typically in the past they were just RIDICULOUS on their prices. You could expect a 40-50% premium over what I could find an item for online.

I avoided the shop for probably 3-4 years over that. I recently went back in though, and I have to say, they've improved a lot. Their ammo, reloading components, accessories, etc are all MUCH more reasonably priced than they used to be. More on the order of a 10% premium over what I can find online. At that level, I can justify supporting a local shop and being able to go in and physically look at stuff. They also have a very nice indoor range that's very reasonably priced ($5/day or $125 for a year), as well as an excellent selection of rental guns (another $5/day with unlimited tradeouts if you're paying daily, or free rentals if you're a yearly range member).

It's really a nice place for me to go after work and just put in some range time.

Their actual guns are still priced a little too high for me to really consider buying from them, but I do a lot of gun RELATED shopping there now :).

There's a terrific shop here in Grand Junction, Colorado. The name is A Pawn Shop, but most locals just refer to it as "Jimmy's". 970-241-2194. Don't expect an immediate answer on the phone though. Jimmy doesn't have a lot of employees and I can say from experience he is constantly on the phone talking to customers and getting background checks. He's not rude, he's just really that busy.

That's ok though, for anyone in the area, you have to make a trip down there. Jimmy's selection is great and his prices are better. On every new firearm I've ever enquired about in his shop, the prices have been lower than any online dealer I've seen. Every single one. Just for reference, back during the height of the post-election buying frenzy, right around January 09, I went in there to see what he had for Kel Tecs. I asked if he had any SU16s in stock and he promptly brought out both an SU16C and a PLR16. I was a bit shocked considering they were about as easy to find as unicorns at that point in time. Then I checked the stickers and had even more of a shock. $435 for the PLR and $475 for the SU! SU16s of any kind, let alone a C model, were going for $600+ at that point if you even managed to find one. And here I was in a shop just a couple minutes from my house and he had one for hundreds less than online.

I became a believer right then and there and have bought firearms and accessories numerous times from Jimmy since. What more could you want? Supporting a local business owner and a good guy without having to pay shipping and transfer, on top of prices already lower than online. And oh yeah did I mention he'll do transfers for $10? I highly recommend anyone in Colorado shop here, even if you have to drive a bit.

Wish I had your all's luck.

I need to find one in the Tulsa, OK area that's a "good" one.

Different shops are either, outrageously high priced, poor attitudes, no selection or sell oldest stock first.

Like I said, try Sooner Guns on 56th and Mingo. Mark's a good guy who tries to keep a good selection. His tastes and store tends to lean to the "tactical rifles", but he does usually have some C&Rs and a few hunting rifles in stock. Plenty of handguns too. He is ridiculously patient and friendly. He does have some gunbroker stuff, hit me up for a PM if you want a link.

I've bought 3 rifles from him so far, it's been an excellent experience every time.

Some other good places are Medlock firearms and Sportsworld. There are also a ton of pawnshops in the area.

Dongs is one of the oldest gun stores in the area, and I have no idea how they stay in business. They have a large building with decent to meh prices, but the customer service is pretty bad.

Cabela's in Reno.

I went in there one time looking for a new choke tube for my 11-87 20 gauge. I was using a modified choke, I wanted a more open choke. The salesperson asked what I was hunting and he told me that the choke I was using was perfect. He would sell me a new choke, but I would be wasting my money.

Another time I called them looking for 28 gauge hulls. The guy on the phone told be the shotgun expert was busy and that he would call me back. Ten minutes later he called and told me they didn't carry those hulls. He then gave me several websites to try to find them.

For a big store, they have small store service.

Dave's Pawn Shop in Crossville, Tn.

They are a good bunch of guys, and have good prices and will do their best to take care of you. They will match prices from online, and are pretty fair on trades too. Great bunch of guys there, and they are hunters and shooters so they know what they are doing too.

I'll second the opinion on Virginia Arms in Manassas, Va. This shop should be the template for gunshops everywhere! Topnotch in every way.
Guns and Ammo Warehouse, a mile or so down Rte. 28 is also a great gunshop. Very friendly and knowledgeable sales staff. Maybe not the selection of Virginia Arms, but I have walked out of there with some great deals!

Lehigh Valley area of PA:

A F Boyers Hardware in Slatington for buying your "hardware". Craig Colabaugh in Saylorsburg to fix your "hardware".

Pekin gun and sporting goods in pekin IL great selection fair prices and great service.

Daves trade in post in pekin is like a block away from Pekin gun, Great Great prices on reloading supplies and the cheapest Springfield XD's I have found yet.

Freddie Bear Sports in Tinley Park, Illinois.
Great people, very helpful, prices are OK.
Owner is also very nice, helpful and knowledgeable, he will talk to you face to face if you please. Will personally take a look, research, and inform you about guns you put on consignment. Easy to work with, all around great place, run by people who know & like guns.

firearms.co.nz

Check them out if you are ever in New Zealand. Although it will make you cry when you realize you cannot re-import one of the NIB M14's they have there for $500 (USD). They also had a rack of beautiful antique SxS shotguns for $150 each!!!

I also like this one: http://www.roe.ru/
I liked it even better when they had the prices listed online. I never knew a Mig was so cheap!

Ditto on Virginia Arms .... I just dropped off my HK45C to have an LEM done ... so we'll see how their gun tinkerin goes .... but a nice bunch of guys and not pushy at all.

Also, bought my first gun (PPK) on Merritt Island from MI Gun Co. Great shop.

discount guns in Vancouver Wa, Hazel dell neighborhood has nice guys and good prices. in Oregon in the Hilsboro area west of Portland is a place called the security store with a huge selection and also has a huge selection of security cameras and dvr systems.

Jensen Arms in Loveland, CO. They will honor the prices they list on Gunbroker (occasionally they don't match the in-store price), have a huge selection of new and used stuff and it's usually worth the trip just to see what's new at the store. They also sell supressors and other fun stuff.

I've bought several long guns off them, would recommend them to anyone.

+1 To Jensen's Arms in Loveland, CO. Great crowd, friendly counter girls who will talk talk talk, reasonable prices, Mil/LE discount... I'll gladly drive the 2hrs up there (more depending on traffic through Denver). Thinking about it, I've been buying exclusively from them for a while now.

Vandailia Armory in ohio, very large firearm selection and great customer service. Also have a very nice indoor 100yd rifle range as well as a very nice pistol range. with good no-nonsense range masters.

2nd Amendment Guns & Ammo in Sundance, Wyoming. Not a huge in stock supply but the owners willing to order anything.

And there's Olde English Outfitters on Chambersburg Rd. , just up Dixie Drive out of Vandalia, Ohio. Vandalia Tactical down closer to town in Vandalia is a good shop as well.

Fin, Fur, And Feather up at Ashland, Ohio, off the US-250 exit from I-71 is a great shop as well.
