I am just curious if any of these bedside safes such as the gunvault or similar type of safes seem secure enough not only to use while in the home, but also while leaving a gun in while away from the home for the day. I have a large gun safe now, and I am considering one of these bedside safes but I am afraid that on occassion I would forget that my HD handgun is locked in there and I would forget to transfer it to my large gun safe.
Right now before I leave the hosue I put my HD handgun back in the large safe in the morning, but its easy when I see it just sitting on my nightstand. I dont have children, but my cats have taken a liking to my handgun in the last few days and seem to sniff around and scratch at it. I keep it holstered in a good holster, but it still makes me nervous which is why I am considering one of these bedside type safes. I carry a smaller version of my HD gun, which is why its not as simple as waking up and strapping it on.
