I was in Montana and they sell ammo contained in Orange Boxes.

Funny, I'm still waiting for 10k of .223 from that certain place in Montana that sells ammo in orange boxes.

That company will often ship small orders first because they have enough to fill the order. Larger orders have to wait for production to catch up.

I just watched the episode of Modern Marvels I mentioned in post #6. Lots of footage of mass ammo production, some military ammo manufacturing footage, and some pretty intense footage of the North Hollywood Shootout.

Also, I was particularly entertained by an interview with a Captain in the Small Arms Ammunition Program discussing FMJs. He explains the whole FMJ and "undue suffering" shtick of the Hague Convention, then gives a single nod and a look like he's holding back a chuckle. It's classic.
