Is there now extra demand for Maks, P-64s etc?

This appears not to be the case and have not attracted attention by the media, but as these are military surplus, other than the commercial Russian Makarovs in .380, are people anticipating any sort of import ban on these in the near-future, provided that they are still being imported?

I'm not sure about mak's specifically but most hi cap pistols are heating up now.... Let the sheeple buy:)

i love my single stack 9x18's. (p-64 and bulgy mak) if you want more capacity, the czech cz82 is a 12-rounder.

i doubt if the single stacks will be in trouble initially, but if i wanted a cz82, i'd get before the hysteria gets too much traction.

From Monday to Friday of this week I noticed that several online sellers now show the CZ82 listed as "out of stock". Classic Firearms jumped the price over the same period by $20 - $30 on their CZ82's, now at $249 plus shipping.

I have purchased several CZ82 pistols this year with the prices ranging from $200 to $236 delivered on my C&R 03FFL, some with one magazine and some with two magazines and the Czech army holster. It is one of my favorites.

I wanted to find an East German or Russian Makarov that fits my budget, but they were all $100 more than I could afford. I bought a Duracoated P64 for $229 delivered. It is a substantial firearm, but the DA trigger pull is awfully stiff, and the little refinished pistol looks so nice that I have not yet fired it. Maybe if Illinois ever gets concealed carry I will see how it runs.

It'll run great. A little snappy but I routinely fire 75 or so rounds per session for practice. I installed the Wolff spring kit, it makes the DA pull tolerable at the expense of making the SA pull lighter than I like for carry. I need to experiment with tweaking things to raise the SA without getting the DA pull back into gorilla territory.

P64

I am convinced that the Poles must have impressively muscular trigger fingers, given the DA pull on the P64.

It is a really nice size (though a tad heavy, but I like steel guns) for CC. What pieces come in the Wolff spring kit? I have seen a couple of articles posted online showing a detail strip of the pistol. It seems to be very well made and spring replacement appears to be kitchen table doable.

No. Personally it would mean little to me if they stopped all importation tomorrow. I would still not buy one. One can get used LCP for same money as something like P-64.

When they were about $100. give or take they were a deal. Past that price to me there not that interesting. I had a Mak but sold it as I wouldn't shoot it due to what the market price was on them. The PA 63 (PP Clone) when they were $125ish looked like a deal to me. But the cost of spair mags was a let down.

There have been so few C&R's in the last few years that I let my licens go and never looked back. There have been a few Police turn-ins that I wanted. Sig 226, 228. Cz75 PreB. But even that stuff is few and far between now.

il.bill,
i have two of the p-64s...i love ordering pistols on my c&r! :D
two mags came with each; single actions were good but the double action lived up to its rep.
this web-site is informative for spring change info; don't go too light.

the da got better without affecting the single much. on a good day, i've hit 3 out of 6 on a rock 100 yds away, holding dead-on with barnaul brown or silver bear ammo.
