I'd say it is, but it was hard to tell the scale from the picture. In NC PA, where we hunt, piles look like big turds or conical piles. They are feeding on acorns now, and the poop has a nutella appearance.
I would say so also. I was hunting WNF in Ohio several years ago and walking down the trail I tell my buddy watch the crap and I stopped and thought about it and looked at it and it looked similar to your pic and had particles of berries in it.
Maybe, but it was a SMALL bear if it is. Bear poop looks a lot like human poop only darker and there is usually a lot more of it. The photo posted by Laphroaig is more typical of what I've seen. And a big boar will leave a bigger pile than that.
When our group of bear hunters gather at the end of the day to compare notes it the next best thing to actually seeing a bear. And we see more poop than bears, trust me!
Alot depends on what and how much they eat; scavenging meat, the poops colors gonna be black, dense and not terribly huge piles, ofeten with hairs laced through.........
But in late Summer, eating Blue Berries on a mountain side, and youll see HUGE sloppy/runny piles of purple, with leaf and twig laced piles, often two or three piles closely strung out....
This season.......Even the wounded Deer that ran off to die are not wasted in Nature.
