Yeah, I can order a new one for about what they want for an Izzy, yikes! :what:

Someone recently posted that CDNN is out of the BHPs...I don't know if that is the $699 painted finish MkIIIs or the $749 "Classic" blued finish BHPs (which are also MkIIIs in features) or both.

I considered ordering one from CDNN but I didn't want the 75th logo on the top of the slide even if it was done pretty cleanly.

I was the same way. I could have saved about $100 by ordering from CDNN, but I prefer my pistols plain and without large commemorative logos. I ended up ordering mine from Buds, and while it wasn't a steal at least they had them in stock and the price was pretty competitive.

It wouldn't surprise me if they finally ran out, as they had been listing them for a quite a while now.

Royal Tiger Imports - Good Luck

This thread perked my interest, so I contacted Royal Tiger.

The first guy I talked to said all they had were the new condition High Powers. OK, still a good price, so I ordered one.

Called back yesterday and was going to give them my FFL transfer info and was told by another sales person that these were not new - just refurbished. She also told me that she did not know if my order could be filled or not. They might have the gun I was promised and they might not. Someone was supposed to check and get back with me. I specifically asked if that could be done by the end of the business day. Yep! said they would.

I never got a call??? Royal Tiger, from what I have read, has some descent prices and unique weapons from time to time. But If I am dropping $550+ dollars on a gun someone is trying to sell me, and they cannot put their hand on it to; 1.Tell me they have it in stock, or 2. Give a verbal description , and answer questions - I got some red flags. CANCELLED MY ORDER LAST NIGHT, THERE WILL BE OTHER VENDORS.

You might have jumped the gun

They were a little better with me, I asked if they had any left, and they said they were down to the best of what they had recieved. And if you had read, you would have known they weren't new guns, as they had been sent to Isreal as service pistols.
I ordered on a Thursday, last second, I did not see the charge on my account until monday. I don't know if they work saturdays or what, But I called early Saturday, and found that they dont charge until they have had a chance to examine my order in person, and then charge/ship.
I was ok with waiting this extra time. Did you ask them to check stock?

Yep, I asked. Person I talked to was real iffy. Could or would not say the order could be filled. Got the feel, all they were there for was to get your credit card info. In fact, they said they only took the orders. I asked for someone to check and call me back. I was told that would be done. I asked if they could do it by COB. They said they would. NEVER HAPPENED. I would imagine I got a minimum wage (or close too) paid worker who could care less about customer service. I did not get a good feel about the transaction.

As far as the new condition VS re-furb ... I called about the lower priced models advertised, and went off the original sales person saying they were new condition. What drew my attention to that, was the second sales person mentioning the grips would be a little rough???

Glad you had a good experience.

for some of the posters above:theHP9mm is a BROWNING not a cz. that is only one thing.
another is,the Borwning HP was issued to the Israeli Army.thus the Star of David.
so not only is it one of the finest hand guns ever made that even compare to a 1911.
it contains Nostalgia,it is a piece of history.that is why the demand and the price.i know for
a fact Royal Tiger sold over 500 in the past three months and are almost sold out. with no complaints from customers.these pistols are still being copied today ( Arcus98dac) and they are being issued by the Iraqi army and police.comparing a Browning HP master piece to a chez is almost comical :)

one other thing to guys, when a dealer is advertising "like new" on a gun that is that old.
it dos not mean like new as it refers to something that was built last week. it means like new based on the NRA grading system. the term tends to be a little misleading to me too,and i work for the gun making/distribution business.that term has caused me to need to explain this many times.i refer you to the NRA site and research their grade system. personally,i think it tends to lead to some confusion, but it is the standard upon what the gun industry uses.

Interesting, I have one with a B prefix to the serial number, here in South Africa. They are quite common here and I bought mine as a "base gun" as not to butcher my "real" HP.

I believe the FEG HP was brought into SA to get around the Arms embargo, the same way we used to get all the CZ stuff.

After minutely examining the FEG HP I found that it was as well made as the genuine BHP. There are certainly less machine marks on the FEG, especially on the foot of the barrel.

INHO the originator of this tread bought a "genuine BHP" and the price also looks good.

$500 is lot of cash for surplus gun like that. One can find used 39xx S&Ws and CZ75s for less. Both are superior choices to the HP.
I disagree, I sold my CZ75 to buy an Israeli surplus BHP, no Star of David unfortunately. $385. I got rid of the mag disconnect, put in new springs, and added Hogue grips. It runs flawlessly.
