I've been loving my Micro Roni/G22 gen4/Holosun sight combo. Hit probability has skyrocketed for me at ranges beyond 20 yards.

I haven't fired this much, perhaps around 200 rounds. While at the range last Saturday, I ran into malfunctions where it appeared the slide would short stroke and not pick up the next round. Then I found the cradle that would pair with the slide serrations was sliding, jumping slide serrations during recoil.

Being made out of polymer, this caused damage to this part to the point where it will not pair with the slide with any degree of use. I can still rack the slide with this part but I'm sure it will jump the serration upon firing and preventing the next round from being chambered.

Has anyone heard of such a thing? Does anyone make this part out of aluminum or some other, more rigid material?

I would just order a replacement polymer one from the manufacturer. Perhaps they are aware of the issue and have an upgraded version? I would think that one made out of aluminum or similar would destroy the finish of your slide.

I discovered the model I have is actually considered a CAA USA MCK and I've decided to give it another shot and order the replacement cradle ($29 + S&H). I think the one I currently have is the "upgraded" model.
One factor that really wasn't considered during the original post was that the MCK was sitting in direct sunlight for several hour during the shooting session and this is when the malfunctions began.

I'll post an update for those interested when the replacement part can be tested.

Don't think the sun is the issue..

I know I've managed to install the cradle proud of the slide before. Has me pondering if it hit the back wall upon recoil and sheared the teeth?
