 well sent my application in for my C&R licsense on the 1st of november and it came in the mail today.

I think that was good timing considering i was ecpexting it to take at least 30 to 60 days from what i have heard.

so now what to do with it :)D ) wait i know start ordering them nice old milsurp guns. got a few ideas for what i want first.

1. K31 to go along with my 1911 SCHMIDT RUBIN.
2. YUGO SKS
3. CMP M12
4. ANY SUGGESTIONS FROM (THR) MEMBERS WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

saying i was happy to see it would be an understatement:) :D :D

Make a ton of copies, sign those in colored ink (NOT THE ORIGINAL), and mail them off to as many C&R vendors as you can, such as AIM, SOG, Century, etc. Make sure to include MidwayUSA and Brownells, since they will give you pretty substantial discounts.

only do this if you want ALOT of junk mail. midway and brownells AIM, most definatly. the others, might want to be sure you'll order first.

you listed semi autos mostly, if thats what you are into then just use it to get the semis you want as the show up. might want to do 2-3 K31s though :)

CMP may still have some 1917 Enfield rifles. They still had some in the South store a month ago.

ok as posted got my C&R. now my question? I am purchasing a rifle from an individual. they called tonight and said that they would have to ship thru a dealer. i thought as long as i sent them a copy of my C&R licsense they could ship it directly to my home.without having to use a dealer.

am I correct on this? or is that the case since it is coming from NEW YORK or is the dealer that is telling the person this trying to make a little extra cash

also can this rifle be sent U.S. POSTAL SERVICE ?

Thanks for the help.

Kenny.

P.S this dealer also told the person i am buying from that they would have to call the F.B.I to make sure the gun has not been used in any crime.

I didn't think this needed to be done either.

If it is a C&R rifle, you can have it shipped directly to you. However, the seller has the right to insist it be shipped to an 01 FFL if he or she wishes.

You also don't need to call the FBI :scrutiny: I'd find someone else to purchase from, sounds like your guy is dishonest, paranoid, less than knowledgeable or all three.

Gunlover, the US Postal Service won't ship firearms. If you are still looking for suggestions, I'd say a CMP Garand, the nicest walnut stocked K31 you can find, an excellent Yugo M59/66 and a Finish Mosin. That oughta' keep you busy for a while.

"the US Postal Service won't ship firearms."

That is wrong. They won't ship handguns from mortals (AFAIK), but rifles are A-OK.

ahh, I though #3 was a mistype M1 :)

can confirm that USPS will ship rifles to a C&R though.
