....a polymer frame revolver. I bought a guns and ammo magazine(Hey I am deployed). Right on the cover was a brand new revolver from Ruger and it uses a polymer frame...well partially anyways. Part of the frame is aluminum with a stainless steel cylinder deeply beveled. And it is rated for 38+P. It weighs only 13 1/2 ounces.

At first I thought has Ruger lost their minds!!??!! But I read the article and came away thinking not too bad. It seems Ruger might have a winner. For me personally I am more traditional but it does look pretty good. Basically the gun is made in 3 parts. Stainless steel cylinder, upper frame aluminum with carbon steel barrel threaded inside aluminum frame, and lower polymer frame to include the trigger guard.

According to the article the felt recoil is less than a comparable J-frame revolver. The polymer flexes a bit to help absorb recoil. Like I said I am more traditional when it comes to revolvers meaning I prefer steel. But I cannot help admire this little revolver. Anyone else seen it yet? Also according to the article holsters made for S&W J-frame revolvers will also work with this revolver. It is called the LCR( lightweight carry revolver.

polly Ruger

I saw that same gun in the "Ruger LCP" magazine just yesturday and thought it was sweet ass sweet !!

You might try a search... lots of threads on it.

I think it's goofy-looking, personally. Weighs more than the lightest j-frames, and looks to be larger. I kinda think it's an answer to a question nobody asked.

Ruger has used aluminum grip frames for a long time, on guns that are renowned for their strength. They just put the steel where it needs to be.

In some ways, I'm surprised they didn't do this sooner. It'll be interesting to see how these are.:)
