It Hurts, Pleasantly

My shoulder, that is.

I was able to take my 308 to the range a couple of days ago, and to work up a new load.

Why is that special?

Circumstances have kept me away from the range for a year. It's a delight to be able to go again, to feel the breeze and the sunshine, and to once again turn money into noise and smoke.

The rifle is a Rem 600, lightweight, short barreled, and with a wicked recoil unless you manage it right. With attention to the remedies, it is very pleasant to shoot and very light to carry.

I've always had the weird sense that the *pain* bother me less than the unilateral effects.

It always seems like it'd be less *bothersome* if the effects were equal to both sides.
