just wanted to revisit this thread to report I finally got a couple boxes of ammo for this gun and took it out today and ran a dozen rounds through it . It shot pretty well using the ppu 123 gr I found . Another time I’ll actually try to dial it in for accuracy.

Finding bullets. Good luck.
Hornady ONCE made them - close to the diameter everyone else uses - but measuring in at .268 inches. I have heard - but 'heard' is not a prophesy - Hornady will make a 'run' of them from time to time. With all the surplus 6.5x52mm rifles being imported and relative inexpensive to own, one would suspect Hornady might be enticed...

I do not know if Norma makes such a bullet. The PPU factory may sell them as it sells projectiles of other odd types. Probably not until they get the regular stuff moving.

The more I try to find ammo and clips I’m not sure it’s worth paying 200 for .

Mine is the 7.35 chambering and ammunition is more scarce and expensive when I have come across it.

I don’t know about this year but pre panic on all things gun, after Thanksgiving, there are generally sales on inexpensive but quite decent rifles in chambered in rounds that are more prolific. Brand new Savages, Mossberg’s, and such for not much more than what your nephew is looking to get.

This was last year but an example.
