Already been near 80dg here last two days, so I got out a couple rifles and tried a couple new loads. I tried some of my 30-30/06 loads in my 06. 150gr Sierra PH FN with 49gr of A4064. 3/4" at 50yds @ 2,605fps.
And my first try of 170gr Nosler Partitions with 35.5gr of LVR Powder in my M94 Win. Two groups of 1" or less at 50yds @ 2,240fps. I'm going to try 36grs in it and if not a significant improvement I'll back it back off.
Sure good to be out! If you're shooting showem! 20220330_102823.jpg 20220829_102558.jpg

I recently bought a limited membership at a local outdoor range where I can shoot rifles at 100 yds. I wanted to shoot some tomorrow, but we had a freak storm being cold weather to this Mediterranean climate so the range is closed. I went to the indoor range with a few handguns instead.

Range is about 5 miles up from this motocross track at Glen Helen in Devore, Ca. I know many of you have feet of snow to contend with for months, here less than two inches sends many people into therapy for weeks.

Hopefully it will be open next Friday.

OP, it looks like you had a good day out there .

Stay safe.

It was a perfect spring day here, up to mid 70's and beautiful! Took my Rem 700 in 270 Win to try a bunch of reloads from last year. Trying to find the key to this rig but best I can say to this rifle & cartridge is, it's OK. Best I've come up with is IMR 4831 & Hornady 140g IL BTSP @ 2800FPS. Basically it's about a standard 7mm-08 and I'm satisfied with that! I've tried the Hornadys, Sierra Gamekings, and Speer HC. The Speers in 130g in front of Rel 17 is decent too. The Sierras are everywhere. 20230301_100027.jpg 20230301_104241.jpg
