My neighbor has been deployed overseas. They have a modest collection from a previous marriage and have asked me to set some prices and help them sell the firearms.

I'd like to hear what you think they are worth. Of course, I get first dibs :D

1) S&W M60-10 3" adj sights .357 no lock S/N CDW 59xx

Everything EXCEPT the military arms are in +95% condition.

Haha Larry - I was thinking, it'd be a race between you and Steve to comment on that one! :D

It'd take a while to go thru all those to apply values but - I do think some useful guidance could be gleaned by investigating stuff on Gunbroker and Gunsamerica - see what ''going rates'' feel like.

Some nice items in there.

Yeah, Im currently searching GunsAmerica, GunBroker, and AuctionArms. Just wanted to see what you folks would thnk they are worth. I know everybody won't have an estimate on everything listed but any guess on stuff you know will help.

No one can help very much without pictures to evaluate condition.

If you've got New In Box Unfired or Like New In Box Fired or Unfired No Box we can help, but without those pictures or NRA G/VG/Ex evaluations it won't do much good.

Well folks, I'm not getting a cent out of this little venture and I'm sure as hell not putting in the time to take pics, post them to photobucket and modify the post. It is just too much of a pain in the arse. :barf:

I was being very conservitive when I said everything except the military stuff was +95%. Personally, I have an idea of what a S&W model 60-10 3" with RB in +95% looks like and don't need a picture to make a SWAG at a price. :scrutiny:

I'm not pissed off at any who have responded, I'm just dissapointed that a bunch of gun loonies here on the forum can't shoot a wild guess at what they would expect to pay for a Ruger M77 MK II that is in great shape at their favorite gun shop.

Again, not angry at anyone or at anyone's response just surprise that's all.

Thanks though. :(

I'll pay 2500 for the lot depending on what part of wyoming you're in

The M44, at least, is worth about $60-70 assuming it's a regular ol' Mosin, but you probably already knew that.

For the rest, just price 'em out on Gunsamerica and Bud's and go from there. If they're really LNIB, you should be pretty close; if not, you're either going to need to post pics or take a wild guess based on Gunsamerica rates. Either way, you're just as capable of making an educated guess at pricing as we are. :scrutiny:

ooops, missed the MkII part of the description. But I also paid $450 for an MKII ss, hbar in .308, with rings, no scope.

the naa guardian and the winny 22 are both 300, and the winny , if it is one of their collector types could go 400 bucks , up to 600.

Thanks!

That is more like what I was hoping for. ;)

I'll pass along these "best guesses" to the folks who own them.

The firearms are in Casper WY.

If they want to sell I know a guy in Wright who could get the money to you and keep them till I could get up there and pick them up. I don't know if the forum has a way to personal message but I'll check around.

i'd go to casper for the wby if the price was right. would even go to casper for the scope or the gun, if the 2 were seperated.

x-rap - where in wyoming are you?

so what happens if one of the guns sells for the value you put on it and then at a later date this friend hears from somebody else that he should have gotten more money for it. is that the end of the a friendship or what? I would make the friend sign off on each price.

The firearms "came into" the family this way:

The wife's previous husband bought the firearms.

He was killed by a drunk driver.

She remarried.

Neither she nor the "new" husband have any idea of the firearm's value.

This is the second (and smaller) sale of firearms for them. The first was prior to them moving here (3 years ago).

I'd have loved to be at that first sale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AR15s (2) were sold for $300 each. A Rem. M7 (caliber unknown) went for $200 according to them. The just took what folks offered and didn't question it as they didn't have any idea what the stuff was worth.

I know they had a lot more because they have user manuals, ammo magazines, ammo and shotgun shells for stuff they no longer have. For instance, 5, 30rd ar15 mags (Parsons) and no ARs. 12ga shotgun shells and no 12 ga shotgun. New users manual for a Rem M7 but no rifle. 300 Win Mag ammo and no win mag rifle. They have told me this list is less than what they sold in the first go round.

There are two handgun safes, the type where you fit your fingers on buttons and press the combination in and the door springs open. There is a Stack-On gun safe. A case of 7.62x39 ammo, AK47 magazines, AR15 magazines, inexpensive gun cleaning kits (2), 2 electric dot shotgun scopes(?).

I just took the list over to them with the prices I have gotten here and on other forums plus GunBroker, GunsAmerica, and Auction Arms. They seem willing to let me "broker" the sale of the stuff befor they ship out in January.

BTW, she is a Major in the Army and he is a retired officer (rank unknown).

Helping someone dispose of a large collection may at first SEEM like fun, but the responsibility becomes very burdensome. A good friend of mine wound up with the collection of a good friend of his to dispose of, due to a divorce. Prob'ly 80 - 100 firearms of all types, some obscure, most fairly common, that probably brought in ~ 30 to 40 large. Big, big tush-ache. After a while, it's just more stuff to step around in the basement, more phone calls from strangers, and more aggravation.
