I am looking for help identifying the year of mfg for this little gem and its' value. See the thumbnail.
I believe it to be a 5 shot 38 large frame with a 5 inch barrel and a double notch latch. The owls are looking out, the serial number under the grip is C35805, under the trigger guard the number is 35854 and the number on the underside of the top frame with cylinder removed is 3700. The top barrel rip has nothing more than Iver Johnson Arms and Cycle Works and Fitzburg Mass USA.
Thank you!

Value is minimal. IJ made thousands of these and the revolvers were sometimes given away with a bag of flour. My dad had one he got that way.

Iver Johnson used that letter code and serial number twice, 1899 and 1911. with out getting into barrel markings the easiest way to tell the date is the main spring, if it has a flat leaf mainspring then 1899 and considered a black powder frame, if it has a coil main spring, then 1911 and smokeless frame. Hope that helps

I was also under the impression that the Iver Johnson revolvers with cylinder locking notches were smokeless powder guns. All the blackpowder guns that I seen don't have them and also freewheel at rest.
