Iver Johnson picture thread

Since there have been a couple of recent posts about old Iver Johnson revolvers (including by me), it seems like a good time for an Iver Johnson revolver picture thread. Show us the little owls in your collections!

To get things started, here is a pic of a nice 3rd Model Safety Hammerless with the less common 2 inch barrel, not my gun but I wish it were!

I bought this one a bunch of years ago. 38 S&W caliber. It was the first top Break revolver I owned.

Here's my Safety Hammerless, circa 1898. Dan Johnson (RIP) of Handguns Magazine used it in a column on how everything old might be new again, namely the trigger safety on these 100-year-old designs.


Never shot it, but it's a nice little revolver.

Sadly the one IJ I have drooled over still eludes me. A friend offered to sell me his Supershot Sealed Eight years ago, but never completed the transaction.

Iver Johnson made some really good quality revolvers in the late 40's-early 50's.

Those 3rd model snubs are awesome! I would snap-up one in a heartbeat if I saw it in good shape. Seems like a modern one chambered in .32 acp would nicely in today's ccw market for who want something smaller than a j-frame, bigger than a NAA Mini, but are people unimpressed with the pocket-polys.

It IS an H&R and it has eaten a few .32acps in it's day, they shoot well, it was my wifes purse gun for 20 years-tiny!
The .32 S&W long target model can get 3" 25 yard groups from a rest. The sights are properly regulated for 25 yards from the factory I guess. I alleays wanted a Iver Viking .38 S&W snub from the 50s-60s
