Ivory and substitutes

Buffalo bone . Probably too thin in the cross section for revolver grips but it does remarkably well in a 1911. And its dirt cheap.

These are BarS Tru-Ivory. Looked great but were a little too thick for my liking. Had them a couple of years then sold them.



These are some type of bone. Don't really look like ivory but I like them anyway.



Two below are elk antler that if one squints their eyes when looking may somewhat look like bark ivory.

Tagua nuts are great sources of an ivory substitute for small pieces like sight beads or inlay.
