To those of you naysayers, those who rolled your eyes in jest, and exclaimed it can't be done, or laughed out loud, well, I found locally an inexpensive Uncle Mike's #2 holster which, while I will modify it a little bit, works just fine.
The revolver only has a 4" barrel, and the frame itself is quite narrow, the bulk of the piece is in the cylinder, which is located just below the belt line. It is comfortable for all day carry, and I can shift it around a little to make sitting or standing a bit easier. Most certainly this I would not do with a Glock or any other auto pistol, at least not with one up the spout. Just wear a hawaiian shirt or suitable untucked garment and all is well. I cannot see any evidence of printing, and am very content with this choice.
So. No. I'm
NOT kidding... try it out, it is quite comfortable, and comforting to have 6, 230 grain slugs on tap in the event of an unfortunate, serious, social encounter. Next solution I'm in search of is where to carry a spare moon clip...
Sorry about the photos, or lack thereof. I'll try to remember to do this later today.
ADDITA: While I'm not a big fat guy, I'm still a bit paunchy. I can see where if one has Dunlaps very badly, this arrangement might not work so well. --Another encouragement to lose weight I suppose.
