Hey everyone. Just pulled the trigger on the S&W Shield (9mm) and i'm looking for an IWB holster. Wondering if anyone had any suggestions. I saw the Elite by Multi and one by Gearcraft on Amazon which looked good, although on the pricey end. Would appreciate any wisdom. Thanks.

I have and EDC a Shield or Compact in a Galco King Tuk. I wear it at 4:30 and wear my concealment shirt OUT even though they are tuckable clips. Belt is Original Special Ops Equipment EDC belt.

If the clips are used with shirt tucked, I end up scratching the car seat (wife was not happy)...

I've learned by observation that many men wear shirts untucked... So, I do similarly.

The Shield is very concealable.

You do have to decide if you are going to do Appendix, 3:00 or 4:30ish... Each have positive and negatives....

Search the web and look at videos..

My EDC works for me... Shield holster is in my work jeans and Compact holster is in my dress jeans... Spare mag, knife and flashlight are in other rear pocket.

RCS Morrigan. Raven concealment makes professional grade gear. This is a bargain and useable iwb and aiwb. I bought one and am recommend it.

I've run kydex and leather/kydex hybrids in glock and m&p platforms.

I use an Alien Gear 3.0 and also sometimes an all-kydex job from We Plead The Second. The Alien Gear is great for tucking in (plastic clips won't tear anything up) and the kydex holster is super light, has great retention, and has a mag holder attached.
I carry modified appendix (between 1 and 2 o'clock. Very comfy and concealable spot to carry in).
You have about a million options for the Shield. Have fun shopping.

I have a Desantis cozy partner and love it. The only downfall, it isnt tuckable. If thats not a problem, give it a shot if you like leather holsters.

Holsters for arount $25.00 - both ship FREE

Couple of excellent choices at reasonable rates:
1.Winthrop Holsters use Herman Oak leather, which is finest available. They are molded tight(excellent retention)and formed just like the expensive holsters. Professional grade, although some costing much more might be better. Look at other choices for the Shield. This what I like: http://www.winthropholsters.com/s-w...-spring-clip-holster-right-handed-black-0863/

2. Blade Tech Polymer. Pretty good with excellent retention. Blade Tech is no longer what it was, but this is a good unit for a few select pistols. Midway is good to order from because they will take it back if you are not happy. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/17...w-m-and-p-shield-9mm-40-s-and-w-polymer-black

I like the Alien Holster system, because I can switch out the kydex shell for my Shield or my Glock. But for a quick on and off I really love the Sticky Holster. I have used it as an inside the waist band for thr Shield and NEVER had hit back out of position, and I've been on tractors, ATV's, walking, running (well as much as a 58 year old can) and in a suit. It has become my go to holster more than my Alien gear. BUT the Alien Gear is a good comfortable secure rig.

Love my Alien Gear 3.0. Carry my Shield almost daily with that one.

Otherwise I use a Desantis IWB model that's not nearly as comfortable but much easier to disarm if I need to.

Ten years ago, Blade Tech made a pretty good holster. Starting with the development of the nano holsters quality Blade Tech seems to have fallen off. If you want to buy Blade Tech, order them from Midway, they have a pretty good selection and holsters are often discount, but most importantly if you get a defective holster you can return it to Midway with no questions asked.

I have a DeSantis Intruder IWB hybrid holster that I really like. Excellent construction as you would expect from DeSantis. Stays close to the body, Kydex belt loops faster around the bottom of the belt so you can't pull the holster off the belt. Excellent holster IMO.
