IWB Holsters

I'm looking for a good IWB holster , I want something that will keep my 1911 from taking the hide off my side. I've looked at king tuck and a few others, the 100 professional... Ideas?

I like winged holsters for heavy guns. They spread the weight with the two spaced clips/loops. Crossbreed ST (or clone) and Milt Sparks VMII (or clone).

p.s. I've owned both. I sold the MS. Great rig; just more holster than I needed and I wanted the money more. I own 2 CBSTs (one for a 1911) and got both secondhand for <2/3 the price I sold the MS for. Nothing fancy, but they get the job done for big and/or heavy guns. IMO, the CBST too much rig for smaller and lighter guns and I opt for simple, low profile single "clip" type holsers here. And, as noted, a thick and heavy gun belt is as important as a good holster. With a good belt more holster options open up in terms of stability, retention and weight distribution.

coalman, I was looking at the crossbreeds tonight actually! I usually wear a shoulder rig and a jacket, but with the heat coming on here I wanted to lose the jacket. I'm thinking the crossbreeds might just be the trick! Thanks!

Milt Sparks, VMII or their new HR-LTD which is basically a thin VMII with all the benefits and the best features.
It is the only holster I can literally sleep with the gun in it. I have them for all my guns, several for 1911 government, Commander and EMP. HK's P30, HK45 & 45c, Beretta 92 & Vertec, SIG 228 & 226 and several more I can't think of at the moment.

Simply the best. The wait and price are more than worth it. I gave one as a birthday present to a budy that only shoots Glocks 19's. Since I gave it to him, it is the only IWB holster he will wear.

I do own many of the other popular holsters, but after after 58 years of shooting, Milt Sparks is the best I have found. I used to like Alessi too, but Lou is no longer with us, and I have not found his shop as easy to work with anymore.

Don't forget, the belt is almost more important than the holster. I have been using Wilderness Tactical belts for almost 30 years now. The 5 stitch.

I'll second that. I have the cheapest option because I don't care for the stiffer leather. I can wear it at 3 o'clock with the thinner backing if I so choose. Perfectly comfortable for all day carry. I've even used it in IDPA with a glock 34. I was kind of surprised at how well it concealed and continued wearing the long slide for a few days.

I also like to keep a raven phantom knock off around.

My Theis Holster is great. I was having issues finding a good IWB for a SR40c but Tommy had them. Took 4 weeks to get it in but it was well worth the wait.

Ray Cory has been crafting holsters, belts and accessories for 40 years.
I have three belts and 5 holsters. Very pleased with all of them. 2-3 week wait.
I also have the Milt Sparks Summer Special II. Another very nice holster.

I'll third it. Have one for 1911 and one for 4"GP-100. Currently have one on order for MP-9. Of course Tommy's holsters don't protect you from Vampires. ...But they are reasonably priced.
