By popular demand ( http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=228714 ), here are the pictures of the 3-finger combat grip after I converted it into a 2-finger "boot grip".
I cut off the rubber first, then removed the protruding metal plate with a hacksaw (I would ordinarily prefer to use a fine-toothed table saw for a clean, straight cut), then roughly smoothed the edges of the plates and the rubber with a file - I didn't try very hard at the last operation, so it does not look like factory job.
There is a partial narrow gap between the halves of the grip at the heel.
One could make the grip even shorter by cutting the grip flush with the heel of the handle. I might try that later.
Note the maimed Blue Gun replica that ws made to fit the replacement grips. White stuff is Scotch tape.
