Jail Intruder Uses Stun Gun On Corrections Officer
SEATTLE --
A 54-year-old woman claiming to be a respiratory
therapist attacked a King County corrections officer with a stun gun in a failed effort to free her boyfriend, a convicted child molester under guard at Harborview Medical Center, police said.
The 38-year-old jail guard took at least three electric jolts
from the woman's weapon, which knocked him backward across the room as he called for help, police reports said.
Then, as Gail Gomez punched the guard in the face, he pulled his pistol and ordered her to lay down. The officer grabbed her by the hair, yanked her to the floor and held her until hospital security and Seattle police took her into custody.
The corrections officer, whose name was not released, was treated for minor injuries and allowed to go home following the incident Thursday night.
