I'm prepping an old M48 for some simple bedding and discovered that my accurglass has dried out. I see a lot of guys using JB weld and I have plenty of it. What are your thoughts on using this for the bedding?

I've never used JB, but I have used Devcon and several other epoxies with very good results. I use paste car wax as a release agent and have never had an issue.

I have used JB Weld for bedding, and it works as good as other epoxies.
I mostly use it for point bedding the action, because it takes several tubes to do a Full Bedding job.
But if you have it, then I say use it.
In fact, I still have a Mosin Nagant ATI Plastic stock that I bedded with JB Weld, and it is holding up just fine.

That is what is in all of my rifles. Works just fine. But I just bed the recoil lug. I guess for a larger area there might be better products.

It didn't flow or fill as well as acraglass gel, but it seems to work fine. I've only used it on a couple of 22's as experiments.

Works good on small areas, if it's synthetic stock I use Devcon. If it's a large area I like to use PC-7 epoxy that can be found at True Value Hardware and some Lowes carry it as well.

Have bedded several rifles with JB Weld, Johnson's Paste Wax, and Silly Putty to contain the JB Weld. Works great.
