Jewell trigger fitting?

Have any of you with Jewell triggers on bolt guns had to sand/Dremel away any material from the stock in order for the Jewell to fit?

I just installed a brand new Jewell in my Remington 700 and the barreled action will not fit into the stock. The Jewell seems to sit about an inch farther back than did the factory setup.
