Jicailla Cow Elk Hunt

Hey Folks, I pulled a cow elk tag for the Jicarilla Reservation in NM over New Years. I have to use one of their guides and they gave me a big list of the approved guides. I wanted to narrow it down a bit if possible. Anyone have any recommendations for one of their guides?

I hope to do that some day. I've heard about the Jicarilla reservation my whole life, saw it on Kurt Gowdy's "American Sportsman" in the 60s, ridden by there on motorcycle trips, read articles in magazines about it. When I finally top out my retirement income, it's gonna happen. Some of God's most beautiful creation out there. Just getting to hunt there, whether I got one or not, would be a major deal for me.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to it, I missed EVERY drawing I went for this year. Than, I saw a hunting show where they were hunting with the Jacarilla for bull elk. I looked at there website and had 6 days before the deadline on the cow elk hunts so I whipped an application into the mail and got pulled. Nice!
