FACT: Kerry has voted nine times in favor of banning semi-auto firearms.

FACT: Kerry has voted for a Ted Kennedy amendment to ban most rifle ammunition, including the most common rounds used by hunters and target shooters.

FACT: Kerry has voted to close off hundreds of thousands of acres to hunting in the California Mojave Desert.

FACT: Kerry has voted to hold America`s firearms makers — not violent criminals — responsible for crimes commited with firearms.

FACT: Kerry was one of only 18 Senators who opposed the Firearms Owners` Protection Act, which ended alarming abuses being committed under the 1968 Gun Control Act.

FACT: Kerry has voted to allow unlimited warrant-less inspections of FFL holders.

FACT: Kerry has voted to criminalize legal sales between private citizens at gun shows.

FACT: Kerry has voted against increasing mandatory minimum and maximum penalties for the illegal transfer or use of a firearm. But he voted to impose penalties of a year in prison and a $10,000 fine on an adult if a juvenile steals a gun from him and then displays it in a public place.

FACT: Kerry has voted to force many small firearms dealers out of business, which would have impacted both the availability and price of guns, particularly in rural areas.

FACT: Kerry has voted 11 times to force law-abiding citizens to wait to exercise their Second Amendment rights. He voted to keep the federal waiting period after the National Instant Check System was in place.

FACT: Kerry voted twice to eliminate the Civilian Marksmanship Program.

FACT: Kerry commended commended an anti-gun group`s demonstration in Washington that called for gun owner licensing, gun registration and other restrictions on law-abiding gun owners.

FACT: If elected president, Kerry will pack the U.S. Supreme Court with Feinstein/Schumer/ Kennedy-selected anti-gun activists who believe you have no right to own any firearm.

Both Senators Kerry and Edwards, seemingly bitten by the bug of Senatorial Duty, earlier this year, returned to Washington, D. C. to vote on amemdments to the proposal that would have barred idiotic law suits against gun makers, dealers, and distributors.

They voted IN FAVOR of the amendments. The amendments were adopted, which ultimately led to the defeat of the underlying proposal. One can draw their own conclusions from the votes of the above named, however it appears that they would prefer to hold the innocent responsible for the actions of the guilty. Seems as if things should be the other way round, but then what do I know?

other podunk area. We're shipping billions of U.S. dollars to Iraq, so that they can make our people into bullet magnets. George Bush is going to

Addendum: The export of jobs, something that has been ongoing for some years, predates The Bush Administration. "Funny" thing about this is the following. While originally the export of good paying jobs involved "only" grubby, greasy, sometimes dangerous manufacturing work, The Chickens Have Come Home To Roost, and these days it's "white collar jobs", including "hi-tech" employment that we see sailing off into the sun-set. If you bend an ear, you can hear all manner of people singing sad songs these days, and no small number of them are those who previously po-pooed the loss of "manufacturing jobs", manufacturing jobs being a pejorative term.

Good summary of Komrade Kerry's voting record. It's all perfectly true. But like I keep saying, 99.999 percent of the voting public will never, ever know it. All they will ever know is: "Kerry was in Vietnam! He likes huntin' and fishin'! He'll never try to take my gun!"

As for the economy, I have never once voted my pocketbook since I've been allowed to vote. I always vote my (empty) holster, not my (equally empty) pocketbook.

Let's hope you're right Wolf...

...since I run into customers once or twice a week who I thought were intelligent people, but there are seemingly many ignorant ones here in the Bible Belt. I say "ignorant", because they are unknowing of the facts...they are believing the pablum the media is brainwashing them with Just like that Democrat NJ governor who is a "gay- (er, QUEER) American"; the media is softening the blow, whereas, if it were a Republican, they'd be ripping him to shreds. There is definitely media bias in favor of the Demoncats- it's our job to gently but firmly educate the still-educatable.

I wonder, though, about the AWB Sunset? Will Kerry/Edwards try a squeeze play at a time beforehand to get that thing resurrected? And are We The People reasonably sure it WILL sunset with all this crap going on?

Just a passing thought.

Bush's problems or certainly one of them is that he does not seem to know when to shut up. As for the bible belt that you mentined, I would think, allowing that I've been wrong before, that it's exactly the things that annoy me about Bush, that would endear him to those Bible Belters.

As for the Assault Weapons Ban, and it's scheduled sun-set, IF gun owneres can keep the pressure on their elected things, I believe that the thing will sun-set, as per schedule. The Gunnies absolutely have to stay awake, and pay very close attention to exactly what is going on, something that they have not always done.

In any event, even with the demise of the Assault Weapons Ban, there are still a number of problematic pieces of legislation that remain in the statute books, to say nothing of "regulations". Last month's American Rifleman, made mention of some of these things, on page 91 or 92, as I recall.

Otherwise, there are the following:

1. The National Firearms Act of 1934.
2. The Gun Control Act of 1968, amendments to the 1934 Act.
3. The 1986 Machine Gun Ban.
4. Othere anti gun proposals currently kicking around in The Congress.

As I've mentioned before, the pro gun side has got to get it's act together, it long since should have done this, and put the anti gunners on the defensive, instead of reacting to anti gun proposals.

Hey Alan...

...Bush not knowing when to shut up? Huh, I guess I missed something there. That's a real thumb-sucker

Needless to say, I'd rather have a man that starts his day praying for Divine Guidence rather than a guy who starts his day wondering how he's going to pull some more wool over the country's collective eyes.

Needless, the economy is getting better (minority business ownership is up 67%, tax cuts are working, etc. since Bush's induction), for the first time since Reagan. BUT, I'm not happy with several things, such as him falling back on increased tariffs and his endearment to illegal immigrants and not holding Mexico's feet to the fire. I also do not like more businesses going o'seas & Most-Favored-Nation statuses and inclusions to NAFTA/GATT...but, one man can't be blamed for ALL our country's ills, our Congresscritters get the blame, too.

Whatever the issue, I used to take LOTS of time bugging those same 'critters and I intend on making the most of my lunchtimes & banging their phones, both at the local level and in D.C.

Perhaps the following will clarify my meaning. A man is, in my view, women too, fully entitled to worship his favorite god, gods or whatever, however he/she might choose to. I for one, would however wish them to do it quietly, in the privacy of their own home, or place of worship. Quite frankly, I find mysself suspicious about "born again types". In the foregoing, I merely indicate my personal beliefs. Others who might well feel differently, are certainly entitled to so do.

I also believe that the Bush tax cuts are more questionable than anything else, and as for this great economic recovery, while retired, I really do not see it. Seems as if job growth, a necessary component of recovery is simply not keeping up.

With respect to Iraq, while the basis for going in seems questionable, the fact that Sadam was a really nasty guy notwithstanding, the fact that present circumstances indicate a serious lack of planning for AFTER is unacceptable, possibly even criminally negligent.

By the way, I'm most certainly NOT a Kerry fan. I do however believe that Bush leaves a lot to be desired. Actually, if I had to choose between Bush and Kerry, could I please have Harry Truman?

Ummm, Bosch is a German based company that "outsourced" German jobs to the US as part of their marketing strategy to more closely integrate with their US customers.

US Union wage and benefit requirements (demands?) are driving their sub-component manufacturers to other markets where the cost of labor is lower. There are a lot of "foreign" owned companies in the manufacturing, service and even the public utilities markets that have "outsourced" jobs that could have gone to their own populations to the USA.

I put "Foreign" in quotes because many of the unions complaining about outsourcing have their members pension funds invested in these companies. Therefore much of their equity is held by US interests and the increased profit they realize from lower manufacturing costs goes into dividends that go to the stockholders.

Heck, look at Honda, they have been in Marysville, Ohio for 25 years now.
