Go find the nearest USAR and NG recruiting office. They can tell you if a unit needing your speciality exists nearby.

If you can't pass the entrance physical, your chances of getting in are slim to none.

One over the world view of mobilizaiton in the situation we are currently in. As it stands the most time the big green machine can involuntarily mobilize you for is 730 days. Most mobilization orders are for 545 days. That gets you to your mob station, trained, 12 months on the ground overseas, back to the mob station and demobilized. You can volunteer to do more.

I just want to add that the military is awesome. No A-holes bosses, no cheap stuff (in many regards). If you end up having time you can also get more free schooling, just for the hell of it.

I'm joining the USAF in the mechanical field. I hears it's really just half a days work, and the rest is chilln. Even on full alert things aren't that bad, just sucks having to be in your station at all times. Can't wait until I get basic over with.

That DQs you right there for any of the armed forces.

You could try the Public Health Service, they wear the same uniforms as the Navy (more or less) and often deploy with US forces. Not sure what their physical requirements are...

The CIA or other .gov agencies might be a good choice, as well as your local/ state agencies.

bad scoliosis

Umm... I'm glad you joined, but you have no idea what you're talking about.... but you WILL.

No A-holes bosses, no cheap stuff (in many regards).
