I got a jukar 45 cal pistol. and I need a main spring. it's not igniting the caps every time the hammer drops. I googled parts and nothing came up. said traditions and cva made ones like it. but I'm not sure. any Input?

Is the barrel long, like a Kentucky pistol?
Is it short, like a deringer?
Is in between the above mentioned two pistols?

What leads to the belief that it needs a new mainspring?
Did the lock reliably ignite the caps previously and the problem just started happening all of a sudden?
Perhaps the lock works are dirty or corroded and need to be cleaned up, lubricated or adjusted. If the lock plate screw is too tight then maybe that's causing the wood to interfere with the mainspring.
Or perhaps it's a combination of things that could include a bad nipple, interference with the hammer, swelling of the wood and/or poor alignment somewhere.
A mainspring can break but it wasn't mentioned that it was found to be broken.

Articap I was thinking the same thing
the main spring would have to be terribly weak not to set off the cap
first thing I would do is to try a new nipple.
that always seems to fix the problem anytime I am having cap ignition issues like that.

jaymo-im not sure what the barrel size is. i can measure it tonight when i get home. i dont know what models are what.

arcicap-im guessing the mainspring because i would have to release the hammer 2 or 3 times before it ignites. as i know nothing about black powder

Having the lock binding up in the mortise can produce the same type of problem. Also having a smashed nipple can do the same. I would investigate both problems before replacing a lock.

im going to try the nipple first zimmer, the hammer has plenty of tension and moves free. the nipple looks pretty rounded over.

Take the lock out of the gun and see if the spring is making a rub mark on the wood hence slowing the strike of the hammer. 9 out of 10 time this is the problem. Add a shim of anything under the lock and don't over-tighten the screws.
