So.......According to that map, Oklahoma Honors a PA concealed Carry Permit. Would that also mean that Pa reciprocates? There is a guy who is a contractor working at my place of employment who has Oklahoma residency. He is really interested in buying a pistol I have for sale. Can he do it? He has a valid concealed carry permit for Oklahoma. He is not a PA resident.

Are the green states (on that map) assumed to also reciprocate??? :uhoh:

Thanks!

In a word, NO.

CCW reciprocity has absolutely no bearing on being able to purchase a handgun outside of your state of residence. The maps on packing.org are there to show what states you can carry in if you have certain licenses. There is no connection with this and the laws concerning handgun purchases.

I may be mistaken, but I believe that you are going to have to have it shipped to an FFL in Oklahoma, and that he will need to take delivery of it there.

You can buy long guns outside of your state of residence, but I know of no other way to purchase a handgun.

It would be best to check with your local FFL for the straight scoop.

Let me see if I understand this post.

You are a private citizen, selling your property to another private citizen? Does PA have a law against that? If not, make out a bill of sale, just like yoiu would if you were selling your car, get a copy of his drivers license and CCW permit if he has one, and complete the sale. What's the problem?

Florida has such a law. Private sales (not through a FFL) within Florida are legal between Florida residents only.

It is a violation of Federal Law (GCA 68) for an INDIVIDUAL to sell, give etc etc ANY firearm to an out of state resident... it is only legal for a out of state resident to purchase a LONG-GUN ONLY from an out of state FFL.

Ufortunately New Mexico at least doesn't work this way. I tried. For a pistol, you have to be a resident, for a long arm, you have to be a resident of NM, or one of the surrounding states. Being from Missouri doesn't work. BUT, my orders to here mean that I'm technically a resident, so next time I'll take a copy of my orders. I'd like to see if there's a cheaper place to buy it though.
