8 inch barrel of course. It's a beauty. I think it looks better than my SS ROA. Haven't shot it yet. Only complaint is the loading lever is kinda loose and when unlatched it falls thru a full 90 degrees.

Cabela's is selling these right now for $400 - $100 below normal price. No shipping charge and just a 3% tax. $412 and UPS brings it to your door.

What i really want is a SS 5.5 inch barrel but i've given up on finding that.

i packed a blue .44 cal 58 rem C&B revolver when hunting groundhogs and shot quite a few from 4 feet to 15 yards when walking out to check a shot from my rifle. for a walking around BP revolver i to prefer the 58 rem over the ROA, but for hunting larger animals i use the ROA.

Yea, I'm not aware of a short barreled model with adj sights. You'd have to shorten it yourself or add the sight.

Did you call them? Put it on backorder because its exactly what you said you wanted.

All basic Piettas will have fixed sight only their 'Shooter's' or 'Target' models have adjustable sights. All the new Ubertis even their basic models have adjustable sights. And they're period correct.

Taylors has Uberti with 5.5 barrel in stainless for about the same price you payed for the Pietta.

Someone else said that and i might buy one IF they actually have them. I doubt they do.

But i'd rather stick with pietta so i can easily swap cylinders among my 1858s.
