I just bought my first Glock. It is a generation 2 Glock 19 unfired in the original box. The old man who had it bought it brand new when Clinton got elected. He brought in a bunch of guns to the local gun store that he been collecting over the years but never shot. I got a great deal on it. I'm pretty excited to get a 20year old brand new gun.

Very nice first Glock. I have a Gen2 as well, shoots very well with my 115 grain JHP reloads I do.

My EDC Glock is a G2 19. I guess it would be the one I would keep over them all, if a Glock can have a soul my M19 does.;)

I wish I could find one. I plan on picking up a Gen 4 one tomorrow. I like the smoth grip on the Gen2, but the finger grips on Gen3/4 do fit my hands, so I can live with it. Enjoy your piece of history!

My first Glock was a Gen 2 model 19. A used police trade in. It had problems. Keep in mind this is years ago. No youtube. I bought a video on Glocks and rebuilt it. Had the slide done in hard chrome and I put in 3 dot sights. In many years this gun has functioned perfectly. Other guns have came and went but I still have the 19. It and my Hi-power aren't going any place.

If I were you I would go buy lottery ticket right now before you luck wears off.

Thanks guys. The story of how the gun came to be at the gun shop is very interesting. A 91 year old man went to the gun shop wanting to buy 6 .44 magnum bullets. Not 6 boxes, 6 bullets. He said he keeps a .44 magnum in his nightstand and the rounds in the cylinder had been there for years. He wanted to trade them out. The owner of the gun shop happened to have a partial box of personal .44's and offered to sell the old man 6 bullets for $6. The old man accepted and mentioned that he might have a lot of guns he would be willing to sell. He didn't have any family interested in them. He ended up bringing in a few guns, the Glock being one of them. He bought it when Clinton was elected because he feared the president would outlaw them. Also among the guns was an unfired Colt Python.

The Glock has factory installed Trijicon night sights. Obviously they do not light up any more. I've heard that you can send the slide in to Trijicon and they can replace the bulbs for a price. Anyone else ever tried this?

Can you post pictures of your unfired Gen2 Glock 19? I don't think I've even seen a Gen 2 in person.

Pictures of your unfired Gen2 Glock 17? I don't think I've even seen a Gen 2 in person.

It's a Glock 19, not a 17. Here are some pictures.

Anyone else think a .44 magnum might be a little heavy on recoil for a 92 yr old man who hasn't practiced in years? :)

Hey, I sure wouldn't mess with him. If he shot at me I'm sure both of us would soil our pants.

Unfired G2 19?

I'm not a Glock kinda guy but I probably would have picked it if given the opportunity. Good luck with your new toy.

Welcome to the club. You had a great find. I love my g19's. They have been flawless. If times got hard and I had to start selling off my modest collection, the 19's would be the last to go. Enjoy!

nice find on the Glock but you mentioned he had an unfired Python? that would be a great investment if the price is right.

Don't know if it's a good deal of not, since the price wasn't mentioned, unless I missed it. However, I'm pretty sure that Trijicon will replace those lamps reasonably. Just contact Trijicon and they'll fix you up. Shouldn't cost much to mail a slide to Trijicon. I'd send it USPS Priority Mail insured.

Congratulations! It's hard to go wrong with a Glock in any caliber, I'm an
owner of the 21SF and 26 and they have never made me regret buying
them.

Took the gun out this weekend and ran about 150 rounds through it. I used to think I would not like a Glock, but I can tell you now that these are awesome guns. I shot a lot of 115 gr PMC and Federal fmj as well as a box of 124 gr +P Federal HST with no malfunctions of any kind. I think I am going to use the Federal HST as my carry ammo.

Those of you who have the Glock 19, what kind of IWB holster would you recommend?

That's really cool because it's unfired. Not many people get the chance to pick up a NIB gen 2. I personally prefer the finger grooves of the gen3 19 and like it better overall, but I can still appreciate the rarity of running into a gen 2 that is unfired.

got one just like it.

never part with it or you will regret it. One of the best Glocks ever made.
