I had the scale out and I had the cabinet open, so I got curious and weighed my main carry pistols, fully loaded. Five semi-autos and one revolver.

Disclaimers: some of these pistols have aftermarket grips or magazine bases, so weights may vary from stock configurations. Various ammo was used, from hollowpoints to FMJ, depending on what I carry in that particular gun. All weights in ounces.

Glock 26: 26.3
Beretta Nano: 22.9
SIG P238 HD: 21.5
S&W 642: 17.1
Beretta Jetfire: 12.5
Kel-Tec P32: 9.9

Here, I thought I was the only nut who weighed my guns. All my handguns have the unloaded weight included as part of the data on my inventory record. Why?.. Darned if I know, it just seemed like a good idea.

Wish you'd have included a .44 Special Ruger Blackhawk. None of the guns you weighed seems to have much meat in them.

Sorry -- don't have one of those. About the best I can do is a Smith & Wesson Model 64 with a heavy barrel: 37.9 ounces (2 pounds, 5.9 ounces).

my 44 spl blackhawk with the 5.5 inch barrel comes in at 44 ounces. i hang em from my rcbs trigger pull scale.

murf

p.s. that's empty. with a full load of 300gn lbt bullets it weighs 50 ounces.

I'll add some to the list - weighed some of mine a while back to see which one was lightest for backpacking:

Makarov: 29.2
Springfield Loaded 9mm 1911: 44.5
Ruger GP-100, 3", Half-Underlug: 38.0
Glock 20, Gen 4: 40.5

I'm going to assume my Ruger LCP is somewhat close to the Kel-Tec P32.

Confirms my feeling that it's one of the smallest, lightest pocket guns out there, which is what I wanted. Amazingly, it's 1/3 the weight of the Glock 26.

Thanks for the weight comparison!

Now get 'em and LOAD THEM UP WITH AMMO.

Then weigh them. And weigh the spare ammo in mags or clips or speed strips or speed loaders.

My CC firearm is a Ruger KLCR that weighs 19.6oz fully loaded with five rounds of Remington 125gr .38 Spl. It replaced a Springfield XD-S in .45 Auto that weighed 25.9oz when fully loaded (5+1) with 230gr JHP ammunition. The XD-S replaced a SIG P239 that weighed a hefty 33.5oz when fully loaded (8+1) with 124gr JHP. I have no need to look for another CC firearm.

But with what? 115 gr loads, or 125 or 147 for the Glock?

158gr slugs for the .38 or 95 gr slugs?

Same for the .380s and .32s.

See that makes it quite different in weight.

Good point. It was 147 gr in the Glock. Honestly not sure what was in the others. I'll check.

You want to get more OCD?

Do what I did years ago.
Figure the ounces per round & energy per round it holds!

Sorry for the table being so screwed up you can't read it!
I don't know how to post spreadsheets!

No, the LCR is much heavier than the P-32, more like the S&W Airweight.

The LCR according to Ruger weighs 13.5oz empty. The ammo is about 2.5oz so the total weight will be ~16oz for the LCR.

I just weighed my P-32 and it's the same 9.9oz the OP recorded.
My S&W M442 loaded with 135gr Speer Gold Dot ammo weighs 17.6oz.

Well, if it was the difference between 5 rounds of .38 in 158 gr. vs. 95 it would be about 0.69 of an ounce. Or about 4% difference in the featherweight revolver.

Not a real big difference.

He wrote LCP not LCR
The OP's P32 loaded weight of 9.9 oz is only half an ounce heavier than Kel-Tec's listed values of 6.6 oz unloaded plus 2.8 oz for a loaded magazine. Of course KT lists the P3AT at 8.3 oz unloaded and says a loaded mag is the same 2.8 oz. Further, Ruger lists the LCP at 9.40 oz unloaded. So, if we round the figures to the nearest half ounce the LCP should weigh about 12.5 oz loaded, or right at halfway between the weight of P32 and an LCR or Airweight J Frame.

My mistake, sorry... Old eyes and reading fast is not a good combination I see! lol

Well you were on the right track in that even an LCP at 9.4 oz empty is nearly half again heavier than an empty P32. :)

I just weighed my LCP, loaded with 90g Buffalo Bore HP's, on a triple beam balance scale.

344 grams = 12.1 oz.

Close estimate on your part.
