For the market now days I would not say badly but if you were more diligent in shopping around you likely could have found it for less. I bought a NIB .308 a month ago for $450 if that is any indication. I have seen the x39s and .223s for 300-350. I have also seen people asking more than $460 for them too though. I don't know if they are getting that. It is a great gun and will last a life time so I wouldn't sweat it too much either way.

They were selling at a gun show last month for between $500 and $850. The lowest I've personally seen them selling for is $275 at a gun show last year. With supply and demand being what it is due to the current political climate, I'd say you didn't get skinned. Yes, I'm sure (or at least very hopeful) that prices will drop back to normal. You may kick yourself at that time for not waiting, but don't worry about it. It's OK to live in the moment every now and then. If you plan to keep and shoot it, then over the long haul, you'll get your money back and then some with all the fun you'll have.

Thats not HORRIBLE. But its not a steal by any means. I wouldn't jump on one unless I found it for under $400. Typically they should be seen anywhere between $350 and $400 IMO.

got one 3 weeks ago for $369- i thought that was a good price nowadays.

I saw one recently for $350 and almost bought it because that's a low price lately. Most of the dealers around here are asking 425 plus so I don't think you got too badly burnt.

paid 400 plus shipping. shops in the area charge 500 so you did fine. I think they will only go higher. They where 200 about 6 years ago. Now go to saiga-12.com and learn everything there is to know about the whole family. you will want much much more.

Who cares? You are an owner, enjoy your new rifle! As long as you like it and you didn't spend the rent money on it, don't worry about it!
(as someone who is prone to the occasional impulse purchase, I have learned to tell myself this...)

Is it compliant?

I'm gonna add a tapco buttstock and pistol grip.

Pun1sher, you should get in touch with xbox360. You guys could start the ultimate "Saiga- should I buy, return, rechamber, load, unload, clean, look at, shoot, etc." thread.

clean before shooting? LOL i shot a 20 rd clip the second I took it out of the box! Ill give it a good cleaning after I get home though. How often do you clean your guns, fellow saiga owners?

You should know for yourself whether you got ripped off or not.It is very easy in the internet age to shop and compare.

Nobody should say you got ripped though,so another guy might know where is one for $50 less, not that much of a money difference. And besides guns usually go up in value or at least hold their value.

A couple years ago I got ragged on for buying a K31 for $200 because others were saying they got theirs for $125.But I bought mine face to face and saw it before I bought it,and look now only two years latter prices have gone up to where they are above $200 for a nice one and are drying up in supply.

Have fun with it.

well from reading online guides they say CLEAN before you shoot. as for cleaning I always clean my guns after shooting. For A sagia I open the top put hoppes gun oil on moving parts. I put rem oil on the outside barrel to prevent rust. I use bore cleaner inside. I dont know what to do with the spring though. What should I apply on the spring ???:confused:
