Just got an XD-9

Hey ya'll. Just thought I'd share my recent acquisition. Last night I purchased a Springfield XD-9 Subcompact. I got an amazing deal on it. It's used and the guy had only put 600 rounds through it with no probs. He had all documentation and both mags and he threw in a Don Hume IWB Clip on and a Comp-tac FBI Slide holster all for $350. I looked around for a while and couldn't find any deal that came close to that. Plus, he lived close to me so there were no shipping or transfer charges. I found the deal on www.hs2000talk.com.

Anyway...the gun is in great condition and feels and points great in my hand. I think I'm really going to like it and after I've shot a few hundred rounds through it and get to know it well it will become my main carry gun, replacing my cheap but trusty Smith and Wesson Sigma .40.

The whole thing came down to the XD-9 or a Glock 27. I wanted small and I also wanted a .40 but I feel pretty comfortable trading down to a 9mm. The XD won out because of the added features (or "unnecessary gizmos" as Glock lovers call them ), the price and just plain great word of mouth. Also, well, call me vain but I just like the looks of it even though many consider it the ugliest gun this side of the Beretta Neos. Anyway...not really looking for criticisms or pats on the back, just thought I'd share my fun:

Oh yeah...on added bonus is that the Don Hume holster fits my Sigma very nicely too. That immediately replaced the Uncle Mike's IWB that I've been using. Uncle Mike's works just fine and actually conceals a little better due to being slightly thinner but there's something to be said about a nice piece of leather wrapped around your sidearm.

with the XD-40 sub coming out, i'm sure XD-40 sub mags should hold a few more rounds of 9mm

if you need nmag extensions, Pearce is now making them.

i've got a XD9 sub, a XD9 tac is on the way and just sold my XD40 tac for a USP

I will. I might actually end up trading it...or not. I don't know how I'm going to like it. I've never had kydex but I hear comp-tac is among the best.
