My mother has recently decided that she would like to have a handgun and started talking to her co-workers about what was what. She is still undecided and keeps saying she would like to get one but has never come remotely close to deciding which pistol she likes.

So I decided to push the issue a bit and help get her off the fence.

I looked around the internet and found a guy selling S&W Model 64 police trade ins for $209. I think we have a winner!

Ya know, my wife does not like shooting my GP100 with the 357 rounds I load up and her SP101 is not much fun for plinking. I think she would like one of these Model 64s too.

While we're at it; my sister has also mentioned that she would like a handgun but never seems to find the extra funds to pick something up.

Awwe, hell. Why not?

Those are sweet looking. The poor lighting may be hiding the slight handling scuffs and scratches but clearly there's no major gouges or dents. A helluva deal I'd say.

Wrap the guns up for under the tree and fill the stockings with ammo... :D

I tried for a bit to get a better picture but we are rained in here and this was the best I could do with indoor lighting. When it clears up I'll take some better close ups out in natural light.

They're actually in nicer condition than I had mentally prepared myself for.
The worse thing any of them have is that one is dinged on the top edge of the front sight. I actually like that they are used pistols since I'm going to tell everyone "These things are already broken in, so get out there and put a bunch of rounds through them. Toss it in the glove box and don't worry about scratches. Take the thing hiking and camping, it's stainless and won't rust up easily."

Nice gift.

Buy them each a couple of HKS speedloaders to go with them and show them how to use the loaders next.

Nice find. I've had one myself for a few years and its my only "modern" style revolver I own (have a few more but they're single actions with a Nagant thrown in for fun). In single action I also shoot it better than any other gun I own.

I've even considered dipping my feet into ICORE classic division with mine :).

Mr. Sunshine made an appearance today so I took some pictures outside, and they are a bit too bright. I can't win here...:fire:

Maybe after the holidays calm down I'll buy a better camera.

You can barely tell it but two of these guys are marked with department numbers.
I think that ads to their cool factor.

Nice buy.

Hang onto those Uncle Mike's grips. They're great grips, but not made anymore, so they're tough to find nowadays. S&W sells them, but AFAIK, they're limited to what's left in inventory.

Yep, lightly scuffed so they won't have "new gunnitis". But still in very nice condition showing that they were not abused at all.

I'll second the idea of some speedloaders. But in my case I'm more partial to the Safariland ones with the direct push to load system. Just one less thing to think about.

I got a couple of the DAO 64's when they started hitting the market.
Converted one to SA/DA.
Switched-out the aftermarket "Magna's" for Pachmyr.

Couldn't turn down the lock-model 10's at $225/ea. either.

Once your on "their list" the rest is just padding.
