Still being used every year. I own 3 of them (keeping some extras on hand for the grandkids) and I wouldn't want to be without one.
First deer I ever got was with my Winchester 30-30 and iron sights. I'd be more than confident to walk in looking for pigs with it in my hands.
A classic that keeps on going......

I have one of the NRA Centennial Winchester 94 rifles and it is basically configured like the model 64. It is a beautifully handling rifle.

I like the Marlin XLR's too!

.30-30 is as accurate and as useful as it ever was. Not a 'long range' gun and doesn't provide 3,000 fps and thirty-seven misses a minute, but quite useful for most of us commoners.

However, much depends on the intended use. For deer and hogs at less than 200 yards, will probably do fine. Common shots are even closer, so those should be finer.

my camera quit so sorry about no pics but today I did get the cute little marlin 30-30 out of layaway and just got thru cleaning it up to take to the range so but looking at it, it looks to be very nice and well made and all looks good and I even tried some shells just cycling them thru no shots as I was in the house but the action feels great so tomorrow I hope it all goes well! update coming soon!! :)

wow guys a new update I took the little youth 30-30 out today and with my reloads using 170gr sierra and 33.6grs of win, 760 powder this fine rifle shot really tight groups! plus they really made a very nice rifle here so my hats off to marlin for a job well done!! :)
