I just restocked. Got some 180 Partitions for the .30-06. Got some 69 gr for the the CZ 527 Varmint 223. Some 9mm hard ball and hollow points, and some primers. I am good to go for a while now. I am going to keep an eye out for some Varget, but I can manage with out it.

I hope everyone is getting ready for the fall hunting season ahead of the fall elections.

I went to three gun stores and they all had powders. No one had CC small pistol. The price on the powder was identical in every store.

This is good.

I am balancing my components - I typically buy more powder than I have bullets and/or primers. Been doing a spreadsheet to calculate, by cartridge, powder required, type of powder and then check the primer and bullet "stockpile".

Edit: It does not make much sense to have 500 bullets/primers and 10lbs of powder....

That's a drop in the bucket compared to what I have, lol. 26 lbs rifle powder, 16 lbs pistol powder, 11K pistol primers, 7k small rifle primers, 3k large rifle primers, 16k bullets total between 308, 233, 40 cal and 9mm.

I'm good!

Nice Colorado.

To the OP - local stores do seem to have stock these days. Where are you located? I have a lb or so of Varget I could trade.

Colo - Similar boat to me. I have 53lbs of powder (pistol and rifle), 10k primers (rifle and pistol) and 6k bullets.

I am way powder heavy. Sounds like you are bullet heavy?

My "loose" calcs:
1lb of 308 powder = 165 rounds
1lb of 223 powder = 285 rounds
1lb of 45ACP powder = 850 rounds
1lb of 460S&W powder = 147 rounds

I shoot 12,000 pistol rounds/year....easily. Both of my AR's, they'll see 5000 rounds combined and my 308, about 300 rounds/year. My pistol primers will be consumed in less than a year, wow.

Looking good, sirgilligan! :)

Interesting timing on this Thread.

I just did a Power&Primer inventory this morning and was surprised by just how well-stocked I am.

And to go with that I have well over 30k in bullets ...

... so I think that I am comfortably set ... for awhile. :D

Not so sure about that. During the worst of the shortage, primers and bullets were available. Powder wasn't.

My powder supply is enough for 20x the rounds of my bullet and primer supply.

Right now I'm looking for a 4lb jug of HS-6 and maybe a pound or two of IMR4350.

I think I'm ok on the mix of primers I have although I might be light on CCI #34 and #41 primers. My M1 eats ammo almost as fast as the AR15 lol.

I don't think prices are going to go any lower so I think it's time I put in the little I need.

I am currently in Utah. I am from Kentucky. My recollection during the last big run on things is this, no powder, no primers, reasonable selection of bullets.

I made the spread sheet this morning and I have tried to get everything synched up in that I have enough powder to load all of the bullets I have.

The gun stores told me that Varget would be in in two weeks, so I will get some soon enough.

I don't remember bullets being easy to get. .224 & .308 bullets were almost none existent, especially .224 bullets. HP handgun bullets were scarce too.

Where is the fun in that? Now we have one less "where can I find ..." Thread after Nov 4th.

I went to the store today and found the last powder I was looking for. I am good to go.

I also got some Accurate No. 7 for heavier 9mm loads.

I just placed an order on Cabela's for $200 worth of powder and primers, the stuff was on sale and you get 10% off and free shipping on top of that.

I have slowly stocked up over past two years. Got about 60 pounds of powder. 40k primers. 10-15k projectiles. I'm light in projectiles for my peace of mind. I started reloading right at the panic timeframe a few years back. I do reload for almost 25 calibers

Looks good the powder that is not the firing pin.

The last election cycle powder was very hard to get even after the price jumped up close to $10 a pound. I am seeing powder after 4 years of looking but the price has never came down.

I picked up another 2000 Federal small pistol primers, this makes 4000 in two days. I'm going to set up a min-max system for components and try to keep supplies well above crisis levels. I'm fairly close to the min level for small pistol primers. Once I hit that mark I will buy for my needs and keep a certain amount for disruptions in the supply chain. As far as powder goes I'm good, I have real concerns in the bullet department.

I agree. Great idea, set a target level for components and a re-buy level.

I am in good shape with components. However, my amount of completed cartridges has dropped. I have been too busy at work to maintain my ammo level.

My last trip to Cabela's filled most of my shortfall. I got the HS-6 and IMR4350 and also bought a pound of W572 to try. They did not have either CCI NATO primers but I think I'll be OK.

I also picked up my most accurate .223 hunting bullet, the 55gr Sierra GameKing #1390. I was hoping the 60gr Nosler Partition bullet would be on sale but they were not.

Hey guys, I might be a bit cautious here, but I wouldn't advertise online about how much firepower or ammunition you have on hand. I have been reading some court cases in USCCA magazine where large ammo stores were used by city prosecutors to convict a home defender. The claim is that you're a nut case looking for a confrontation.

I certainly do not agree with such an assessment especially in light of shortages in recent years. So an uncertain market and the chance of an economic collapse are good reason to me and possibly to some of you to stock up, but I wouldn't advertise.

Also, I hear that the NSA & FBI troll a lot of the net looking for folks to brand "terrorist" and large firearm related items stores look abnormal to most city folks. So I would not brag to neighbors about the "arsenal".. Just saying.............. : )
