I ordered this K31 scout mount from AIM on Tuesday and got it on Friday ($49.95). Company called USA MOUNTS. Never heard of them, but it seems to be well made. Not a very good pic, so bear with me.
After removal of the rear sight, the new base was a square aluminum block with a rounded lip. This lip fit under the rear slot where the leaf spring of the rear sight fit. Then the rear sight pin was used in a hole in the block to secure it. Then a set screw is used to tighten the whole block. The scope base is slotted to fit over this block, and then two large stainless socket head screws secure it to this block. The scope base is 4.5 inches long, with three slots in each end to give a little leeway in scope positioning. I have a BSA 2x20 pistol scope mounted in B-square low rings. Took less than 10 minutes for total installation.
Will let you guys know when I get around to shooting it.
