After asking a few questions about the Ruger SR40c, I ended up with the Kahr CM9. Nothing against the Ruger at all, but I do a good bit of cycling and thought the smaller weapon would be a plus in that dept. I took it to the range today and I sent 115 flawless rounds through it! I has a LOT less recoil than I would have imagined, and it was a real joy to shoot, so much so that I'm seriously considering a CM9 for the Mrs. Just wanted to share the news about my new toy, that's always fun!!!!!

I traded mine for a Glock 19 and am seriously thinking about buying another CW9. They are good pistols and a lot smaller to conceal than the G19.

Guys I'm SOOOOO Embarrassed. I have the CM9! I was thinking about the CW for her and it translated to my post!

The single-stack Kahrs are great CCW pistols. Whichever one you end up with, you will do well.

Don't be....It looks like everyone else thinks you bought a CW9:D Now quick edit the post I quoted.

My CW9 never fails to amaze me on its accuracy! Its easy smooth long trigger, allows you to stay on target through the squeeze, and the break always a supprise. Best DA trigger out there.... I get the occasional last shot non-hold open, but that dont bother me none. Enjoy your new Kahr! and get the Wife a CW9:)

I recently acquired the CM9's fraternal twin, the PM9. I believe they are setting the standard for micro-9's.

I own one that I've put many many flawless rounds through..It has replaced my pf9 for carry...I like it so much I went out and added a CW45 ...

It's only 115 rounds, but I'm definitely impressed. I thought long PF9, and almost went with it!

Oh yeah, almost forgot. Check your local Wal-Mart stores for Blackhawk pocket holsters (If you shop Wal-Mart). I bought on there last night that fits the CM9 like it was made for it. It's a Blackhawk size 03...$9.99

Gator, may I give you one warning about that type pocket holster. You may not face this problem, but I used a pocket holster made of that material several years back and it tended to bunch & turn so that the trigger became exposed. Again, may not be a problem for you, but I wanted to mention it.

I don't know if any of you are familiar with David Dawson of Dawson Precision. He is the gunsmith to the stars if the gun-dancing disciplines.

Here are his comments on the CW-9:

"“I have long searched for a high-quality, reasonably-priced carry gun and I have finally found it! This search has been driven by my friends who wanted my recommendation for a carry pistol, and for some reason think because my name is Dave Dawson I know a little about the subject. I've been building custom pistols for 20 years and I am not easily impressed. For the record, I won't recommend or sell any product I don't believe in.

First and foremost, the pistol has to be reliable. When I first started testing the CW9 I thought it was a fluke. The pistol functioned flawlessly, but I could not help but notice the tight group it was shooting. We purchased several more, I shot them all and let me tell you, it wasn't a fluke.” -Dave Dawson

Ammunition has come a long way and with 9mm +P+ ammo reaching velocities over 1300 ft/sec with excellent expansion properties, 9mm is no longer a sub-caliber defense round. The CW9 carries 8 rounds in a very controllable package.

We now offer DP Tritium and Optic sights for the CW9, and if you purchase the pistol and sights we'll install them for free. Now you can have an accurate, reliable carry pistol with DP sights for around $500.00! We even test fire and sight it in for you. "

Yes, he is promoting the gun so he can sell it and make a profit, but he could promote any gun he wanted. His endorsement means a lot to me. I have bought two STIs from him with the Dawson trigger action packages and they are first rate.

He also has some good gunsmithing videos on youtube.

I agree. My experience with the Blackhawk is that they are not stiff and do not hold their shape for long at all. I mean only a week or so before it deforms. Suede leather is better by far in longevity and stiffness. While suede is not as stiff as a full grain leather, I find that suede works much better than the Blackhawk type of pocket holster and works well for years.

Thanks so much for the comments on the holster material! There is a WEALTH OF KNOWLEDGE on this site!!!
