Kahr cw 9 Vs shield 40

I have a shield, and have an oppertunity to swap for a Kahr with a CT laser, or a nano with 3 mags including an 8 rounder. The shield is a 40, I am more interested in pocket carry, so the 9 is fine. Whih of those 2 would you guys choose, I think the Kahr is a better value with the laser, But the Nano is a new gun, and the last new gun I plan on trying for a while, the LC9 I had really was junk, and I traded that and cash for the shield, which is better made. The ruger had a paper clip for a trigger spring, and the worse trigger I ever saw, I even put the RTK in, and it just fell apart, the trigger spring kept sliding off the trigger bar. I actually have a new one in my junk drawer.
So Kahr or Nano?
XDS is great but gets big with the extended mag, and 6 rounds is too little for my taste, I prefer at least 7+1, with the extended mag in either the kahr or 8+1 nano

I own both a PM9 and a 9MM Shield. The trigger systems are totally different. If you are into long double action triggers I would look toward the Kahr. I also carry a S&W snubbie so I prefer that trigger system. If you shoot better with a more Glock type trigger the Shield gets my nod. The advantage of the Shield, is the safety which lends some comfort to some people, and an extra round or two. I like my Shield, but the Kahr gets a lot more carry time. It is smaller, lighter, and easier to conceal than both of the others you mention. Of the three that you named, the Shield will be in the highest demand.

I own a LGS and everyday i scan through the distributors inventory to see what is available.

I can get Beretta Nano, Sig 290 and Remington 1911, when everything else is sold out that should tell you something.

I wouldn't consider the Kahr CW9 an ideal pocket-carry gun.

The Kahr PM9/CM9 are better suited for that purpose.

I can only compare between a Kahr P9 and a S&W Shield 9. Subjectively recoil is worse in the Kahr, but the Kahr was a long time ago for me. I prefer the Kahr sights, but the grip texture on the Shield.

I shot the Shield again today, just a fast 50 rounds. I decided to keep it. I reallt didn't give it a chance. The only thing that I have to get used to is holding a higher grip with my Thumb, it scrapes the mag safety on recoil. If I do that then the gun is controlable, and not hard to stay on target, even with double taps. I just needed some range time with it. No sense looking for other problems, at least I know this gun goes bang every time.

I have a Kahr CW9, equipped with a CT laser, 1 seven shot mag and 2 eight shot mags. It does have a long but nice crisp trigger pull, shoots any brass 114 gr. on up, small enough to conceal unless you wear very tight fitting clothes. The recoil is no problem like the Kahr pm and cm models could be as they are much smaller physically. The PM is also much more exspensive than the CW. I cant speak for the Nano or the Shield but I can say that my CW shoots as small or smaller groups than my newer Glock 26 9mm. I suggest you get the one that fits your hand best. A Hogue slip on rubber grip or even a puncture proof bicycle tube can improve the feel and accuracy of these smaller handguns.

The CW9 is not a pocket pistol any more than your shield is. If you want a pocket pistol just sell yours and buy a cm9 kahr.

I have both the CW&CM and the CM is my carry choice. The Shield stayed on the dealer's shelf. The slide height was too tall and the trigger felt like it had a bucket of sand in it. Basically, it's a personal choice.
