It is really surprising given the track record of Kahr polys?
I know, I know, you have like 10K rounds in your PM9.
But I've been reading these gun forums for years and there is a constant stream of stories from unhappy Kahr owners. Fundamental problems exist with their poly guns that has never been corrected. Especially in .40 and .45. To the point where some police agencies won't even allow Kahr's as BUG's for their officers.
I really wanted to like Kahr but would never trust them again. After two terrible PM's and horrible customer service never again. And I'm hardly in the minority on that.
I've owned 2 Kahr PM9's. The first I bought used, so I have no idea how it functioned in the other owner's hands... But in mine it was flawless, save a run-in with some nasty dirty reloads the first time I shot it. I plugged a few thousand rounds though without issue, though.
I sold that one off for a M&P340... And missed it. Just got another one, this one brand-new black diamond. I have 330 rounds through this one now (222 fmj and 108 GDHP +P's) without a hitch.
I'm not sure if they've gotten better, or my luck has been good. I have been considering a P45. We'll see how that one goes.
Bummer about the P380. Guess I can buy something else and not tie that money up waiting It's not like I need it, with the PM9 around...
I've also owned two PM9s. Several hundred rounds thru each with absolutely no problems. A friend talked me out of the first one and I missed it so I got another. For some reason they just didn't seem like the kind of pistols I keep (SIGs) so I let that one get away also. Carried a J frame for awhile but really missed the PM9s. Both were among the most accurate handguns I've had, and no malfunctions. It finally dawned on me why I didn't keep the PM9s. I handled a K9 (all steel DLC)! Bought it and it shoots even better than the PM models I had. Extremely accurate. Had an issue with it and it's at Kahr now, on their dime. Go figure! I should be getting it back soon so we will see.
IkenI. some of the negative posters are not even kahr owners, just repeating what they read somewhere else, or if they owned one and it gave an issue, then they are all POS guns. Course then on the flip side there are people like me who have two kahrs and they have both been flawless. and I have thousands of rounds through my 2 kahrs. My lcp has been flawless also, some have not, again have read many lcp posts where they are hammered by a none owner, just repating what he read somewhere. Pretty easy to destroy a product when we have the internet, not matter what it is, if that is a persons agenda..
Well, I have three Kahrs - MK40 (flawless), PM9 (flawless), and an PM45 (a few issues) and all in all, I'm very pleased with my Kahrs and the overall product line.
I cannot condemn an entire company for a few bad apples and yes, I even owned an LCP once and yes, it had issues. Long story short, I no longer own an LCP but you don't hear me knocking the pistol nor the brand.
