I picked up a PM9 from a fellow I met on Florida Shooters Network, about a month ago, "maybe less". I swapped him for an M&P 9C, only because I have so many medium sized "compact" guns, that it wasn't getting any use.
I didn't expect the Kahr to be as good as it was after shooting it at my LGS yesterday.
I had an old MK9 Mag for a total of 5 mags with the gun. I loaded them all up with different types of 9mm from 115 fmj and hollow point to 147 grain and a few in between, "basically all the types I had". The gun ran all of them straight through along with all 5 mags, "from a metal base to 2 extended base". I was very impressed, the guy told me he had sent it back to have the internals polished, "I guess he did", it looked like a mirror inside. I dropped him a note and thanked him after shooting the gun yesterday.
My experiences with used guns have generally been good, although a few have had timing, mag, and extractor issues. This one was right on the money, I think it's a keeper. Now I need an 7 rounder and a pocket holster, for carry. I have a De'santis nylon IWB for it but it deserves a leather holster.

Congrats! I love my CM9.... keep an eye on those 7rd mags when you get them... I have found those magazines to be ammo sensitive(my 2 6rd mags have no problems). Federal 115gr FMJ in particular was giving me fits getting jammed UNDER the feed ramp. I measured them compared to everything else I have shot... they were 0.010" longer than every other round... and have a pointier profile which probably doesn't help.

Have you found yours to be silly accurate for such a small gun too? I love mine... I shoot it better than my 1911.

Yes although it was more of a function test, "first time". I only had 2 fliers out of 60-75 rounds. the rest were 8, 9 and 10 at 25 ft, except for rapid fire, I was still in the target but not where I like to be. I need a Hogue grip on it to cushion the recoil a bit. I had put some skateboard tape on it, but removed it afterwards, it seemed to cut into my hand more. The gun is more than accurate enough to carry without a second thought.
Now I will shoot it more and get more accurate with it.

First post here but congrats on new gun. I have same pistol purchased new about 5 years ago and my experience with it initially was not good. I had one with the "peening problem" which caused the gun to be replaced by Kahr. The replacement gun has been nothing but a pure pleasure...accurate and dependable. People complain about trigger pull but I found it to be smooth and consistent. One comment about magazines, I have found that my point of impact changes when using flush verse the extended with finger rest. It makes sense that your grip changes with different magazine but it didn't immediately come to mind when I experienced it. I started torqueing the gun and shots would land off to the side so I standardized on just using the +1 magazines and do not carry or practice with the short magazines anymore. Enjoy you new pistol, FYI I also have a K9 in plain stainless and this gun is even more of a joy to shoot than the PM9.

Mine has fired at least seven different brands of FMJ and at least four different brands of JHP of grain weights from 115 to 147 trouble free.
The only issue I ever had was when using the extra supplied pos seven round magazine that without fail makes the second round going into battery nose dive.
I ordered another six round magazine to replace it and never used the seven rounder again.
Great pistols.

gym; My Wife and I both carry CW9`s and have for several years, have had no problems at all with either of them. We both just enjoy shooting them. We are 68 69 years old and my Wife`s health is failing and She is having trouble pulling the trigger on our othe pistoles. But She can shoot Her Kahr CW9 with out any problems.I haven`t had any Magizne problems but I only have one 7 round mag. I put Crimson Trace Lazers on both of them, and we think that makes out CW9`s even better. I use a in the pocket holster and my Wife uses a fanny pack. I hope you enjoy you Kahr pistole as much as we do ours.

I think they're great little guns.

I have been thinking lately that the PM9/CM9 must be one of the most under-rated guns out there. Smaller and more light weight than the Shield, more reliable than the Kimber Solo or Diamondback DB9 but they don't get talked about half as much as those other guns do.

Indeed. My CM9 has been 100% reliable with a wide variety of ammo. It's an incredible pistol for any price (and I only paid $327 for mine new).

Most knowledgeable gun folks and LEO I have spoken with like Kahrs, and/or own them.
Folks who are new to handguns seem to lean towards all things S&W, Ruger & Kimber.

A couple of police officers I know carry them (PM9) as their BUG.
2 of the 4 LGS I frequent - the owners carry a PM9 IWB.

I love mine......a never sell firearm. And +1 to heeler's comments on the 7 rd mags.....won't use mine except for the range.

Nice find with your PM-9! I love my Kahr and consider it as my primary EDC. I also divested myself of another compact 9mm. as I found it was just so much larger and less comfortable to carry as my PM-9.

gym, Thanks for the welcome. I have read the High Road forums for years but for some reason never joined up. I spend most my time over at PAFOA since it is mostly local folks but the quality of the responses at the HR always had me returning to get what I needed to make purchase decisions or figure out some reloading issues. Anyway thanks again.

I was looking at u tube videos on the PM9, and "Nothing fancy", claims it's hands down the best concealed carry 9mm pistol out there. I consider that a ringing endorsement, "aside from our members", because he has fired everything made. It is also his concealed carry.

I think you will appreciate it more after you have owned it awhile. I have a number of "carry" guns and I find the PM9 to have all the attributes of a great carry gun and is capable of the same accuracy of a much larger handgun. It is also the perfect semi auto to own if you are a DA revolver shooter. It compliments my 340pd perfectly.
