Kahr PM9?

Has anyone had any experience with the new PM9? I used to have the MK9 and I liked the way it functioned but it was a little too heavy for my needs and the corner of the trigger guard dug in to the middle finger on my shooting hand. I could have had it beveled but, because of the weight, I wasn't going to do any work on it. The PM9 certainly has cured the weight issue. Is the trigger guard more rounded on the polymer version? Has Kahr resolved the issues they had with the plastic in their polymer guns? I'm really interested in this pistol, but I have yet to find a store close by that has one that I can handle. My gun club can get one for me for $450 without nite sites or $515 with nite sites. Let me know if you have info.

I had a MK9 that I absolutely loved.
I had put about 500 rounds through it with no problems at all.
I had it fitted with night sights because I found them cheap.
Never had a problem with the trigger guard though.

I miss my MK, but, like you, I felt it was too heavy for pocket carry.
I traded it for a PM9.
The PM9 can be carried all day, and I forget about it.
(The pants have to have a snug waist. Fortunately, at this stage of my life, that is not a problem. I carry in a Uncle Mike's #3 pocket holster.)
The recoil is a little snappier than my MK was, but not bad at all.
Accuracy is as outstanding as it was with my MK.
I have only shot about 275 rounds through it so far, but it has been flawless.

I did notice a little finger pinch with the extended mag, that I never got with the MK. But, I don't like the extended mag, and I don't use it much.

I can't speak about the trigger guard, but the guns are almost identical to me. The grip is thinner on the PM9.

BTW, that is a great price. Mine was $555 before tax.

A friend has one that is functioning perfectly, from what I heard the early problems were considered cosmetic, therefore I would not want to buy one sight unseen, ie. on an auction site or pay in advance special order, you want to look it over. Prices should come down gradually as the initial wave of "got to have it" goes away. My p9 is excellent, no reason the pm should not be as good. They are plentiful in this area now, but the price is higher than you quoted...tom

I have a PM9 and so far it's functioning OK. The only problem I have is that it has a problem feeding the first round if I am using Federal HP's. If I use Winchester HP's, they feed fine. FMJ's also feed fine.

My other issue is that all of my shots are very low (bottom of the target) even at 25ft. I am not sure if it's me, or the gun. I am able to do MUCH better with my S&W 3913 TSW or my P99. Should I expect better performace with such a small gun at 25ft?

I bought my PM9 in the Tri Cities, WA for $499 before taxes. It has been a great little pocket pistol. I have only put about 100 rounds through the gun but so far it has been very reliable. I did have a metal pin which was sticking down from the trigger guard which was rubbing on my trigger finger. I called Kahr and they said it was OK to take a punch and drive the pin in a little farther. I did just that, I guess the pin just wasn't seated all the way into the frame. The PM9 is the best pocket pistol on the market IMHO.

I have a PM9. I like it very much. I also have an MK9, BTW. I've only shot about 200 rounds through my PM and it jammed once on the first magazine when my father shot it. After that, no more issues (I think he limp-wristed it). This is my firs Kahr polymer gun, so I don't really know what was going on with their polymers before.

I just got a PM9 and put 50 through it last weekend. Also shot it side by side with an MK9 Elite. Both guns have a similar feel with the MK being a little nicer to shoot (because of the weight). The PM is a little snappier, but not much.
Accuracy was pretty good at 15 yards with a couple of tight groups as I gravitated towards the best grip position. I found myself with a tighter grip than with most other guns, for some reason.
Functioned very well although I do believe that the 200 round break-in is probably more important on this gun that on others. With the slide to the rear it was difficult to chamber a round. I definitely think that it's just a break-in issue and I'm not at all concerned. Once chambered there were no FTF or anything like that. I used American Eagle ammo.
The POI was a little high and to the right, but I'll hold off on trying to move the sights over until I've shot it a bunch more.
All in all - a treat.

Does the PM come with the Elite trigger standard like the P9? Could a long trigger pull be DW`s problem?

I bought a PM9 a while ago and have put about 500 rounds through it. It's very accurate and easy for me to shoot. I've been shooting Winchester whitebox ammo with no problems. Mine does not like Speer Gold Dot HP ammo, they tend to jam. Winchester Silvertips feed just fine. I have not tried any other HP but plan to. I used to have an MK9 with the Elite trigger. I don't find the PM9 any harder to shoot than the Elite. However, I do a lot of shooting with revolvers so the trigger pull on a semi-auto is not a huge issue.
