but will be unable to buy

Why wouldn't Kalashnikov Concern want to make a semi-auto version for the US market at their new Kalashnikov USA facility?

Lots of US sources for various AKs but they'd have the market cornered with this one!

Because of US sanctions against them

"Kalashnikov Concern in Russia has confirmed that the company operating as Kalashnikov USA has nothing to do with them."
I am just so sure of that. See again; sanctions. ;) CZ and CZ-USA don't have each other's phone numbers on speed dial, either

Oh, boy ... yet another gun with accessories rails. I just cannot get myself all that excited about this. Not my cup of tea. (probably why I don't own an AR)

But, don't kid yourself, Max. They will be available in the US one way or another. Someone will market one here. There's no bigger market in the world for accessorizable firearms than the US.

CZ-USA is CZ's affiliate and US importer and marketer.

Kalashnikov USA has no business affiliation with Kalashnikov Concern in Russia (other than the fact that RWC was a former importer of Saiga firearms).

I guess I'll have to take the word of the company CEO over that of an internet armchair commentator.

Sounds like they've made some really significant and worthwhile mods but man does it look clunky. The ergos look a bit better but the Russian sense of aesthetics is as tragic as ever.
