Kansas City Area Hunting???

I'm a recent transplant to the Kansas City, MO area. I've lived all my life in southeast Missouri and have hunted there all my life. This year, I traveled back home to hunt and the drive (7 hours) just about killed me.

Does anyone know of any good public hunting ground in the Kansas City area, or even within an hour or so? I'd like to find a good place up here that I could go to for the second weekend of rifle season and also for muzzleloader season.

Check out MDC's Conservation Reserves, just pick your preferred County or Region.

You'll have to go through each location to see what the legal method is. Most are archery only, but some do allow ML and/or rifle.

I'd also suggest looking up the location on Google Earth to get a general lay of the land and some scoutn'.
