Kansas City Star is Anti-(Hand)Gun!

They've been blatently anti gun for a very long time. Most of the media in KC is anti. Fox is about the only one that is somewhat neutral on the matter. I refuse to watch ABC news because they are extremely anti. CBS is anti, but they try to hide it a bit better than ABC and the Star. (When I say CBS/ABC/FOX, I'm referring to the local KC Affiliate stations...)

Dunno about the radio stations in town. I avoid them like the plague cause of all the crap music they play. Haven't listened to any station for more than a few minutes in about...oh. ten years or so.

Last time CCW came around the KC Star posted some articles that had no business even being in the "Opinion" section as fact. I wish I could remember the specifics but that was years ago. I just recall them making me extremely angry. I couldn't believe an editor would let it slide just on the pure venomous nature of the righting much less it's inaccuracy.

So is this a new policy? I read the hunting/supplies section pretty regularly and this is the first I've seen of not being able to sell a HG unless I'm a FFL.... :cuss:

I have been trying to get my wife to stop our subscription to the Star. The stuff they print........ well you know.
I sure feel safer now that the Kansas City Star is not going to allow all of those illegal black market civilian gun sales to be posted in their paper.

Screw the Kansas City Star. Appearently, they are unaware of the fact that Kansas City has a long standing history of gun ownership. I will not spend another dime on one of their newspapers.
There were days when I was a law enforcement officer, that I browsed through their hunting supplies section looking for a good deal on a new sidearm. Obviously, they don't care to offer a means for folks like myself to conduct that type of activity.
I am ashamed of the local media in Kansas City, and I watch as little programming on local stations as possible. Furthermore...I will no longer be supporting any business that is a direct sponsor of the K.C Star, and if any charity organization has The Stars' name attatched to it...they can forget about a contribution from me.
Also, I will be informing all of my gun owning friends, neighbors, and associates of the new policy, and I'm sure they will feel the same.
Kinda' makes me laugh about a guy I used to work with who used to go to one of the coin operated paper machines, and empty that sucker out for the cost of one newspaper...hehehe! He only read the financial, and sports sections...and threw all the rags in the dumpster at work.I'm getting a good laugh about that now!!! Hahahaha!:neener:

Kansas City Star is Anti-Gun!

Trees are made of wood!

Which of the above statements is more obvious?
(no, look again ... its not as easy as it sounds :p )

Very few papers are not anti-gun. I am surprised that they still allow gun dealers to advertise; many papers ban ALL advertising of guns and ammo, and some even ban advertising of hunting clothes, boots and the like. IIRC, the Washington Post once rejected a Jeep ad because it showed a couple of hunters getting out of the truck. Jeep (Daimler-Chrysler) stopped using hunting ads and contributed to gun control groups.

After all, the First Amendment says, "The press shall have absolute right to do anything and say anything, and to try to take away the rights of everyone else." Or is that just the way it is interpreted?

Jim

Most news media is very left-leaning and liberal. A lot of news peple are flat out liars. Anybody remember the lawsuit Gen. Westmoreland filed against CBS? That's when I lost all faith in the press.

Now you know why I don't buy the Denver papers.

Well I have two words for you The Gazette http://www.gazette.com/

Here in Colorado Springs we have an awesome newspaper (well, from an editorial standpoint anyway). Very libertarian in nature. The classifieds has a Firearms secton and we get lovely editorials by folk like Thomas Sowell, Jacob Sullum, Walter E Williams, etc :)

I guess I'm spoiled :p
